Norf are a good contested team and are tall.

So we go in with the weakest midfield we have had in 5 years and no extra height.

I think MC has been poor this year and this has topped it off.

Not chance this week now IMO this selection only makes sense if we are throwing this game and setting up for the next 3.

It's not totally unsurprising that only one of Jong/Stevens has been selected. They needed a bit of creativity and vision with Rat and possibly Webb plus maintaining some aerial options at both ends was obviously considered important. Seems the MC have Jong ahead of Stevens in the inside stakes at this stage. I agree. Jongy likely to be mostly in the engine room I'd expect.
If Will couldn't make the team today he's probably not going to at all unless they're specifically resting players. Might get a game against Freo. Meantime, hope Roughy can last.

This is pretty much exactly what I said on this thread during the week. I wasn't over fussed either way but I really thought we can only play one of Jong or Stevens and I'm glad the MC has made this call.
I'm reasonably happy with this side,probably the most height we have had all season which everyone should be happy with. I'm really looking forward to this game,I think we are a red hot chance.

And those calling for Jong to be dropped each week (not mentioning any names) simply have no idea or are not watching our games each week. We are playing a game style of relentless contested ball winning and handpassing out of trouble to outside runners. We now have lost two of our best extractors in Libba and Wallis, as well big bodies Macrae and Stevens (So out of form it's not funny). So we already have a massive hole in the middle and people want to drop Jong who is at the bottom of every second pack and takes a tonne of heat each week.

Seriously some of you have no idea. Let's play Bailey Dale and Declan Hamilton in the middle against Ziebell and Swallow and Cunnington and see how we go....

Dougie your not going to like this rational and I am not saying I agree with the match committee but Jong is one of only 8 players on our team to have kicked 10+ goals this year. He is also averaging about a goal a game, twice what Koby is averaging.

Stats show that we can find the footy, they also show that we are not kicking enough goals. If match committee is saying how do we kick more goals they are not going to pick Koby over Jonga.

On an unrelated note I am bloody excited to see if all of this youth can spark some good footy. There was a lot to like from all of the young blokes last week and no reason Hrovat and Webby won't bring some more good energy.

That's 7 players who are not best 22 when we have a healthy list. Don't get me wrong, Dunkley is coming off a couple of strong games, but not many would have him in our best 22 yet.

Hopefully the kids can pull off a big upset.

Jong gets rested on the forward line as he cannot play back he is useless man on man.

Stevens goes to the wing, half back or bench.

There is no rational other than blond moronic bias that an continue to argue this potato should still be playing. The argument he gets to every pack is garbage he only makes the ones that don't move far his work rate to the next contest is poor and ask the blokes who watch footy on here they will back this up.

Hrovat is garbage so don't hold your breath and he wil no doubt get injured agin and kiss another 5 weeks so that's exciting.

Webb I don't mind and at least he hasn't had 6886 chances like the other two.

Well to start you don't drop Stevens and or Jong this week.

I hate Jong as a footballer but we need those bodies this week and Hrovat is a dwarf and Webb doesn't have a body yet.

Dropping Stevens this week is simply mind boggling no matter how poor some think he has been and he has not been as bad as Jong

Ironically think we're actually playing more talls than we have most games this year! Morris has come in and no talls back out.

Personally I wouldn't have dropped Stevens with our outs unless he's carrying a niggle (which he may well be).

Geelong were massively superior with back height first time we played, but last week Bev changed it up and we were in the game AND, by crikeky, the boys had a crack. How do you know we can't beat north. Toyd could play a blinder, Stringer and Clay smash them inside.
Wells might get injured. And Waite.
And there's no Higgens this time
