But we can also try one ruck man and let other kids grow or pitch ruck.why because of Clark let Griff be second ruck.with different of option. Playing 2 ruck or letting Clark be first ruck is risky with his situation.

Don't get me wrong, Griff is great and deserves to be the number 1.

But this year should be about planning for the future and Griff won't be there for our next shot at a flag.
Clarke maybe there, although it seems likely he's going so may as well see if he can up his value, good ruck form = better contract = better compensation pick.

If he stinks it up as the number 1 ruck after a few games, then totally drop him and play Griff and a pinch hitter

The ball was kicked long to the wing where Clarke took a nice mark in the pack. Coach (not sure who it was) yelled at him "bring it to the ground Zac".

It was a clear instruction to not try to mark in a pack situation, so I have no idea what is up with that...

I have seen them doing that in the forward line before, asking the talls to bring it to the front of the pack for the smalls - e.g. Ballas and Walters - to swoop onto.

I have no idea why you would not want to be taking marks around the ground, unless the theory is that marks in packs slow the play down and we are better bringing it to ground for our running players.

Whatever the theory I think it is dumb footy to not take clear possession when it is there.

So what you're telling me is that we've been practicing the "tank" for quite some time now.... Interesting.

You're probably right Lach72, but the way Zac is marking at the moment I would never suggest he miss the chance to grab one, even in training

I watched the first half again last night. Hawthorn must've been given mogadon before the game.

Our ball use in the main was absolutely putrid.

Ibbotson, Sutcliffe, Sonny even, Neale once or twice.

Sutcliffe just has to go...absolutely horrid.

Lee Spurr had a great first half.

And forget Neale.

Alex Pearce is just about the best player we have out there at the moment.
