Shocking decision if true. but hey, we wouldnt want to offend the gold pass brigade who have led us to such sustained success over the last 5 -6 years.

They deserve every opportunity to prove they can once again lead us to a creditable 7th or 8th which will give us much cause for optimism next year.

Thanks for your input claymonk. In fairness, I didn't invent the word. The only thing otherwise I would point out is the sentence in bold is yours, not mine heh.

I mean, it's not as if you must adopt free thinking, but it helps in exposing the world for the sham it is.

"the" language

"the" meaning

Can you not see that your brain has adopted arbitrary assumptions, and that you are talking about something else? Language evolves quickly. The OED doesn't.

What you have written on this subject is nonsense, but that takes the biscuit. It is pointless arguing with someone as that has no understanding of language or how it is formed. Let's return to the original problem...you questioned the coach's intelligence, most likely without ever having met the man, and while doing so you used a word you invented. The word dietise is not in the English language and the fact that you mistakenly used it doesn't make it so.

Well then why can't Reilly be dropped???
1. He has a gold pass
2. We have invested near 200 games to prove to ouselves he was a worthy first round pick
3. We have spent just as long to try and work out his best position befre finally working out he is an excellent exponent of being on his own, under no pressure and nailing 90% of his passes
4. He has a gold pass

He's been great IMO. His work in the middle has been outstanding for a player of his age and experience level. He's one of the few we have who will look for an option out of a tight contest rather than just slam it on the boot.
The bolded bit is the crux of it. The team is selected on merit. If you need to include a qualifying statement like that, then you aren't justifying his selection in the team.

If you'd left it at "his work in the middle has been outstanding", then his position would be fine. Being good, for a kid, is probably not good enough to justify keeping his position at this point in time.

Well to many Crows fans in the members stand Graham Cornes is a KID so I guess it is all a matter of perspective.

The term KID usually relates to a teenager who is in the first or second year of his first AFL contract. You can hardly compare Jarryd Lyons to Lachie Whitfield who was playing under 18's last year, is still 18 years old and has played 9 games this season. Jarryd has had three pre-seasons and is now well and truly capable of playing a full season of AFL (form permitting).
Both are eligible for the RS award, so in the eyes of the AFL they're both obviously still kids. I think it's entirely fair to count a 20yo kid, in his first AFL season (granted his 3rd year on the list) as a "kid".

Well then why can't Reilly be dropped???
Because aside from one bad game (vs Freo), he's actually been very good so far this season? There is no justification whatsoever for dropping him, so why would the selectors do it?

Reading through those twitter reports, it seems we're looking at the following:
IN: McKernan, Crouch
OUT: Martin, Lyons
Emergency: Wright, Lyons, Martin/Henderson

I for one would not be unhappy with that outcome.

Martin named for Sturt so he's not an emg.

But wait, there's more! :(

Another injury for the Crows ... a regular defender won't play against Syd.

Shutts just tweeted a regular crows defender is injured and wont play

The odds have Sydney to win at 1.53 and Adelaide at 2.50. How pathetic. I think this game will be way closer than that. Let's see if this is the turning point in Adelaide's season.

Actually, we've done alright for injuries this year. Tex & LJ both have long term injuries, of course, and Sam Shaw has his perennial hamstring problems, but other than that we've barely had any problems at all. The only other players currently on our injury list are Joyce (concussion) and Mackay (hip), both of whom are listed as "test".

Joyce is out for WWT, as is CEY who has a shoulder injury (apparently)

Our 6 defenders are Brown, Laird (Who aren't really "regulars", so doubt it's them) Otten, Reilly, Truck and DT. It's one of those four I reckon

"Regular defender" probably means Rutten, Talia, Reilly, Smith or Otten.. Brown & Laird probably wouldn't be described as being a "regular" just yet, Mackay usually plays closer to the wing.

That said, I'd be betting on Mackay having failed his fitness test. We know he was under a cloud, having been subbed out during last week's game.

Yeah Im fairly confident it will be Mookay, hopefully means Lyons can keep his spot.

Out: Martin, Mookay
In: Mckernan, Crouch
