It truly is embarrassing seeing Richmond supporters saying this is a game they 'should win and win well'. That just shows how bad we're travelling atm. I still think if our out of form players find form we would be too good.

Having said what I said I believe the Crows will get up this weekend. Quality seems to fall away very quickly after Thompson, Dangerfield, Sloan, Walker and Rutten is what I meant to say earlier.

You aren't related to Peter Hoare are you?

There wouldn't be a single club in world sport where all the players are happy with selection

You don't hear the criticisms when teams are winning because it would sound stupid

Yes you are right, however we are aren't winning.
The question is, is their current form a result of them being miffed at selection issues or with Sando himself? I guess we will never really know.

Maybe to those outside SA who know very little about our young players. The problem this year is a large number of out of form senior players that we really need to lift.

yeah its the "getting the hands on the ball" part..
So 17 disposals for 3 shots on goal.... with 4 tackles isn't enough?

He might not have been perfect, but you can hardly say he didn't get his hands in the ball. Or apply score board pressure. If supply of the ball was better who knows what his impact could be?

Of all the performances to criticise, I would have thought there are much poorer ones that need to be fixed 1st.

Do people really think the kids are the problem?

Last year, Danger, Walker, Jacobs, Wright, Sloane, Talia and Smith played out of their skins and carried the side.

This year, they're all down, and we're suffering for it.

We bring Kerridge in, and he performs. We bring Lyons in, and he's already one of our best dozen players.

But what about Porps, VB, Mackay, Vince, Reilly and Johncock?

All of our senior players, except Truck (Thommo is 50:50), are having crap years. Vince is going ok, but he's better than that - he's cruising at present.

The kids aren't the problem, it's the lack of quality in the prime age bracket that's killing us.
I agree that our "prime age" players have been down on form, but it is also harder to carry the inconsistency of half a side of kids v a third of a side of kids. Both have been factors this year.

Fellas, do we know where Matty Wright is at? Was such a key figure last year and seems to be struggling this year. Is he expected to return at any stage?

Would expect a return soon, probably will come back this week for Petrenko

Cut out the over-use of handball - particularly to player also under pressure & be more accountable for your possession & take the game on. We have been slower moving the ball this year, because we have been stuffing around with possession, which has made us also more susceptible to turning the ball over.

Quicker movement/taking risks <> allowing the opposition to playing a free-flowing game that Sando doesn't want to play... but will give our forwards better chance.

Heading over Saturday Morning for the game. Hope Ive picked a good one to go over for. Had it pencilled it at the start of the year as a win hence why I picked this weekend.

We're a better team then a 77 point flogging on our home deck - I'm hoping a bad day at the office and a red hot Sydney contributed to this.
Prior to this our form was OK against Hawthorn, Kangas (for 2 quarters) and Freo (ok we didnt get the choccies in these matches I know), having said that not really confident against Richmond but Richmond are notoriously inconsistent and back up a good performance with an average one, so that is what I'm hoping for. Our best should be able to match it with them.

My team for this week;

F: Johncock Jenkins McKernan
HF: Sloane Lynch Kerridge
C: Vince Thompson Mackay
HB: Smith Talia Brown
FB: Laird Rutten Otten

R: Jacobs Dangerfield VB
INT: Lyons Wright Crouch
SUB: Jaensch

Therefore:
IN: Johncock, Lyons, Wright, Jaensch
OUT: Porps, Reilly, Petrenko, Callinan

That means out are 3 guys who are massively under performing (Porps, Reilly, Callinan) and injured Petrenko. In other words 3 old blokes who aren't getting any better.
Ins are a small forward who is in form (Johncock), an inside mid (Lyons), a midfield/small forward (Wright) and an explosive, running goal kicker (Jeansch).

I'd also be tempted to use Crouch entirely as a HBF and throw Smith into the the on ball rotations. I think Crouch needs a position at the moment.
Whats not to like?

Hope Sando is pulling the journo's leg, as playing Danger across HBF when he is needed on ball & up forward is stupid stuff!
It's just as stupid as telling the opposition about it before the game if you are serious

Yes, well who knows. Anything is possible I guess. He may want more run off the HB line. This may hinge on Thommo comming up.

He is obviously going to make a few changes to personnel, maybe some positional changes are also on the cards.

I have no issue with positional changes - where things aren't working, but Danger has been one of our better players & needed on ball & up forward.

If we are wanting to find another HBF to provide run, then try another midfielder like VB or Crouch as suggested above... or Stiffy ;)

Thommo needs a rest this week.

Sorry if it's been said already, just wondering if Jacobs is a definite starter this week after he was in some doubt I believe?
