Really hope you're getting some bad info. An essendon poster who knows him posted a few weeks ago that he loves the club and city.

It would be kind of amusing to see him go though. Just to see how many of the unwashed masses boo him.
I hope so too, but it didn't sound good. It was about non-selection rather than not liking it here/homesickness, so if he becomes a regular this could all change I guess.

Dare I say it but is sando foxing with Lyons as a late change for someone?

I think that's the sort of thing you only do with the better players; the players that opposition coaches care enough about to prepare for. I don't think there is much of an advantage to be gained by surprising Richmond with his late inclusion.

EDIT: Although I would love to see it happen.;)

Meanwhile, following a great win in Perth, Richmond bring in two 19 year olds.

At least someone is playing the KIDS.

I'm all for Lyons playing, as I believe he has a lot to offer to the team. More than what some more senior players have been giving us that's for sure. I just don't believe he'll be a late inclusion.

Yeah, but if it turns out to be the case*, the late out could be Thompson, who I'm sure they would have been preparing for.

*I still can't see it happening.

Considering how durable Thompson has been for us I'll be shocked if he doesn't play.

I am going to Melbourne for the game. Only seen us lose once in Melbourne and never at the G. Frist time for everything I suppose.

I will be at the 'G this weekend - As will my lady friend who accompanied me to the Docklands to witness the amazing North Melbourne victory in what was her very first AFL match that she had watched (her very first footy match of any level was earlier that day when she came and watched my pub footy game) -

I considered her to be good luck as I hadn't seen the Crows win live since Rd 24 2009 up until that game... hopefully her good luck charm, and your MCG record, will hold us in good stead :thumbsu:

They are both close to top 10 players at the club though who have been missed. Conca is our 2nd best mid at generating a score for the team.

Anyone would think Lyons had been playing like Dangerfield before he was dropped. Get a grip people. Should he come in before Callinan and Porps? Yes. Do I know the match-ups and game plan? No.

Talking bout match ups who does the 3 talls down back match up on this week

I'd have liked to see Lyons back too, but let's be realistic here - if he really was out for a "rest" there isn't much point knee-jerking him back into the side after one week, right before the bye. Let him have his rest if that's what we feel he needs. No point compromising the management of our youth because the rest of the team is playing so shit. Of course, if he's not actually out for a rest then I don't really understand it.

Crouch out, that's a little harder to justify. If he was so underdone last week, why did he play? Of course, a better question is why is an 18 year old underdone more than a month after suffering a minor hamstring strain? Bit of a concern there. He needs to be managed very carefully this year, and that may mean not playing much AFL footy. His body is a much bigger concern for us than his footy.

Brown in for Reilly is fine, I'm happy with that. We have plenty of height down back to cover the deficiency there anyway and hopefully Brown will be more useful on the offensive.

As for Kerridge, I'm also happy to see him get a rest. He's a young player who plays a very demanding role. I just don't want to see him out for five or six rounds before he gets his next shot. I really hope we're managing youngsters by giving them little 2-3 week spells off rather than simply dropping them whenever they don't dominate.

The ins other than Brown are not particularly exciting. Jaensch would want to do something pretty damn special while he has a chance. I guess Wright will take Kerridge's role. That leaves Mackay to cover Crouch - I wonder if he'll play mid/wing or if we'll swing him down back again?

Not the most exciting changes but I guess this is a last roll of the dice for righting the ship. You'd hope that we would start taking a different focus towards the rest of the season if we don't get over the line this weekend.

The word from Glenelg is that he's all but gone next year. A few Vic clubs are sniffing apparently so we might get a decent trade at least.

You mean the end of next year? That's a long way off for him to make the call now.

If you mean he'll be somewhere else next year then it's bullshit considering he's contracted for another year, unless we want to trade him which I doubt.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
