It's actually hilarious how whenever there's positive talk about north on FC hutchy tried to step in and throw in a negative

The disdain with which caro answers him is hilarious.

i would also argue they need a ready made Fwd, even if Harry comes on he will be a lone hand there with only Casbould as another real option. I expect them to throw the farm at Lynch.

the worst thing about carltons rebuild is it will take so long for he current recruits to hit their straps that they will loose many of the players that are even making them semi competitive,(krueser, Rowe, Murphy and Daisy) then they will have lack of depth again, its a vicious circle.

richmond showed last year in a close comp its your 15-28 that are likely to bring success rather than your 1-5.

Don't forget Charlie Curnow.

McKay/Curnow could be a great duo in couple years.

There was a bit about NMFC when Liam Pickering was on SEN this morning - I only caught a fragment, anyone hear it properly?

I actually really enjoy Judd in the media, he's one of the best out there, measured, intelligent. Completely different to his robotic persona as a player.

I think Carlton made a great decision with him at board level.

Bringing Judd on full time was the one smart decision Hutchison has made in the last 10-20 years. He is light years ahead of the other three, although Caro hasn't been as negative this season.

One of the funnier things about last night's episode was Judd and the Sniper's banter about Hutchison's preseason selections, he tipped Essendon to win the Flag and West Coast and North to finish 17th and 18th respectively. In hindsight it looks beyond mind bogglingly stupid, but even before the season started it hard to fathom.

Spot on. Could argue that's what was St Kilda's undoing when they got close but not close enough in the Ross Lyon era, on match day they carried some utter spuds to round out the 22 which got exploited in those finals.

James Gwilt, Robert Eddy, Brett Peake and Andrew McQualter take exception to this comment.

Jason Blake, on the other hand, acknowledges its truth.

One bounce away from a flag in 2010 so harsh to say they were exploited in those finals. Collingwood played Jarryd Blair in that game.....

An absolutely ripping podcast :thumbsu:

He's so interesting to listen to Big Corza from him missing on a Brownlow, his relationship with Dennis and his reluctance to even play the game as a youngster. The story of Pagan rocking up in the silver Camira at his house and telling him just had to train on the Thursday and he would play him anyway had me laughing. Especially when Corey said "Yeah I kicked 11 and thought I'm in a bit of trouble here."

Great interview.

I did laugh when she said that "The teams you had 17th & 18th might play off in a Grand Final". Shit sandwich taste good Hutchy?

Sorry DEVO. Just said exactly the same thing. Funny though.

It’s hard to find good AFL talk shows but I’ve really been enjoying Talking Footy this year (aside from the ads).

3-5 min segments, one person doesn’t yap for too long and North getting good coverage.

Carey is improving as a presenter and the regular light banter between him and BT (which I think is encouraged behind the scenes) makes it fun viewing [emoji106]

As mentioned, Pickering gave us a rap on SEN.

Said we'd done a great job structuring our contracts by our list management team, hence the huge cap space at the moment.

This is typically lazy journalism, no real analysis of us. Williams best year to date was 2015 at the Pies, Waite was exceptional at the Blues, coming 7th in their BnF and Hartung was as good last year as he has been this year. Then you’ve got guys like Jacobs and Anderson who were hindered by illness and injury at their previous clubs.

If anyone should be getting the plaudits it’s our current medical/fitness staff.

Jason Blake, on the other hand, acknowledges its truth.

Adam Schneider, Raph Clarke, Xavier Clarke, Zac Dawson, Clint Jones, Farren Ray, Sean Dempster. Their whole list was a dumpster fire other than the top 6-8, which were absolutely amazing and carried that team further than it should have gone for 3-4 years.

KT, I would say it’s typical journalism full stop nowadays. Everything is 20/20 hindsight. The fact is, if things were not going as well for us this season, all this commentary would have “not” in front of it. We’ve experienced the other side of that particular coin for the last two years and it made for awful reading. Why not just enjoy the ride while it’s going our way? We all know you have good points to make. However, in this “entertainment world”, it’s all about the “moment”. No doubt the wheel will turn again - just ask St Kilda and the Australian Cricket team. In my old age, I’m all for surfing [emoji475]‍♀️ the wave!
