SYDNEY SWANS CONTRACT STATUS (Updated 10-APR-2024)

The minimum list size for each club will be 37, which can be made up of as little as 36 senior listed players and one rookie.

To reach 44, clubs can carry 36-38 senior listed players, four to six Category A rookies, and two Category B rookies.

List make up - 37 Senior Listed players, 5 Category A rookies and 2 Category B rookie.

Why do I sense that it is the swans who have moved on from mitchell than the other way around. Signed half a dozen since negotiations shelved and even upgraded Rohans. If tommy isn't careful he could end up with even less money on offer!

Doesn't seem that any contract negotiations have taken place with Towers. He has occasional glimpses of brilliance, very valuable speed. Worth keeping IMO. Perhaps the talks gave taken place and he wants to leave.

Unfortunately for Deano, depending on what our retention, recruitment and TPP strategy is, it is generally players like him who are more expendable and easily replacable to allow room in the short term cap just like we did in previous years with players like Bird, Everett etc

He's also a fringe player so his contract will probably not be worth leaking/speculating about.

Although I do think he's worth persisting with. and hope he gets a 1 yr deal with an option.

I get the feeling the club wants to secure the next generation, and if Mitchell isn't willing to take his share (which is his right I guess) like Robbo, Lloyd, Hewett etc have done then so be it. I know Mitchell leaving might seem bad but surely out of a handful of young mids on our list, between the lot of em there's got to be at least one in there whose as good as Mitchell, if not better.

Heenz & Mills are fairly safe in terms of "go home" though. Only GWS could be a risk. We'd fight harder to stop them going to GWS than anywhere else IMO.

Really hope the club starts working on an aliir extension straight away. i know he signed a 2 year deal earlier in year, but that was before he showed how fast he is improving. No doubt brissy and the perth clubs will be circling
