Do you think Talia will play another game for us? or will he just be banished to the NEAFL and forgotten about and then delisted at the end of 2017.
I wouldn't know. He has to comeback from his injury to begin with and go from there.

Even if he did come back, there's no way he's going to push ahead of the defenders we have now. Maybe Marsh, but we'd be trading someone tall and slow with someone medium and fast. Good thing about Marsh is that he can play smaller than his height, not sure about taller though, and his pace is pretty good for a defender. He won't beat the fast small forwards in a foot race, but should be able to out pace a good number of KPFs and mids.

By the way, Cameron is one of the fastest players out there.

Genuinely don't feel he is best 22 yet due to his foot skills and injury concerns. Hope he improves but at this point he is not at all in my best 22

His injury was a blessing in disguise really because it forced the club into playing Marsh, who's now ahead of Laidler and Aliir, who's ahead of Talia.

Laidler is the only out I see when Mills returns.

The real benefit of the Laidler and Talia injuries is a more athletic, skillful and dangerous backline. Too many big bodies in there and its harder to rebound. The real big boon is Rampe having to play as an undersized CHB but has shown that he's clearly good enough to do it.

You really think Marsh is ahead of Alir? I think Alir is a potential superstar

Hi.
I have read a couple of posts saying that Sam Reid is potentially being sought after if there is a trade for Mitchell with the Hawks.
Highly unlikely in my book but where does he sit being out of contract next year?
Wasn't Collingwood sniffing around him aggressively last year..???

People on this forum are mixed on him, but the club has always valued Reid very highly. Would be surprised if they offloaded him this year or next.

I really want Mitchell to stay.

Surely he could take a small pay cut to fit him in if we win next week.

One of the footy shows said Mitchell had been offered $380k a year for 5 years to stay at Sydney..

From Mitchells perspective that is insulting....How much would Carltin be willing to pay him?? $700k?

Mitchell's only 23. His time will come very soon to be earning big bucks the more important he becomes to us. Jack, Kennedy, McVeigh, Tippett may be on smaller contracts by the time Mitchell's 25. I get the feeling he's restless/impatient though and footy is still a full time job to these young guns

I cannot see him staying at SYdney with the money he has been offered...

Really, he would be a fool to do so

I agree he probably won't stay with the offer, and I don't blame him. I just think it would be a real shame because in a few years we'll be offering him what he wants, maybe even more if his form continues to improve.

You woulkd think that Ted (retire) X (not hard enough), McGlynn (retire), Derrix (not good enough), would be done this year, if Mithchell goes that leaves 5 open spots to fill with faster running types. The Giants and teh Bulldogs have changed the way the game is going a bit. The Giants especially will be losing players this year and we need to be in hte market. I'm not certain Mitchell is the biggest loss, our mids are very one paced. Macca may well retire as well, altho that's maybe a kneejerk reaction, his injuries are starting to come

I guarantee kennedy will get a big offer from hawks to come back end of next year as they lose a ton of experience.
Lock the man up
He has to be named captain next year as a first step. Both our current captains have failed to stand up when needed in both 14 and this year.

The Swans believe other clubs also hold an interest in Nankervis, who played seven games in 2016 and is one of four out of contract Sydney players whose futures are yet to be determined.

Talented midfielder Tom Mitchell is the standout of the four uncontracted Swans.

Dean Towers and Xavier Richards are the others without a contract for 2017, as the Swans deal with a tight salary cap that will make it difficult for them to acquire any significant seasoned player during the trade period.

I guess that means that McGlynn's future has been determined.

What's the situation with Heeney? Will the Swans be able to offer him the big bucks on his next contract? People starting to kick up about it now, he's a f***in jet, would kill to have him at the Saints haha reckon him and Bont will be top 2 in the league in a couple of years
to be honest, heeney and mills are probably the main reason for our reported low offer to mitchell.

Heeney's next deal will be around 500 of i were to guess. he probably wont be consistantly at thay level yet but his demand will force us to pay overs. Mills wouldnt be are off.

My personal prefernce is that heeney, mills and aliir all get signed up. suitor will be knocking
