Really, only 500? I can imagine there'll be clubs that throw 700-800 at him over 4-5 years, hopefully you guys can get him signed up though - but if not, I'm sure the Saints will come knocking :p Love Aliir and Mills too, they'll get big contracts for sure. Are you guys looking to trade Tippet to relieve cap space? Although would be tough to get teams to take on his salary, I guess
heeney will only be around 21 at the time of his next contract, id expect his contract after that to be his big pay day but who knows.

The only way i see tippett leaving would be because we have an "agreement" with a free agent at the end of next year

Heeney's next deal will be around 500 of i were to guess. he probably wont be consistantly at thay level yet but his demand will force us to pay overs.

If Heeney plays like he did in the finals next year we will need 700K/800K to sign him on.

i dont think we will have to pay full market value for him, he loves the club and i think he will always sign for a little less..

Just a hunch

thats what my 700K is. I reckon a club will come with a 900k type offer or even 1 mill.... 700K is what Prestia is getting. Heeney will be on the Hogan/Fyfe level of contract if he continues dominating.

What's the situation with Heeney? Will the Swans be able to offer him the big bucks on his next contract? People starting to kick up about it now, he's a f***in jet, would kill to have him at the Saints haha reckon him and Bont will be top 2 in the league in a couple of years

Main situation is... his manager trying to get a bigger deal.

Would have to be:
1) a mammoth Buddy type pay packet
2) a mammoth Judd like trade deal

Tom Harley said last night Heeney is a priority. He also grew up in Newcastle. Played his juniors at Sydney. I don't think he'll move for any amount of money unless it's like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ x 10 years or something mental.

If Sydney sign him on a long-term contract, I'll renew my membership every year for life. Even when I live overseas. Get it done Sydney.

With all the crazy shit happening this week at one club in particular we need to sign an extension with JPK now

I think Davis and Hiscox get cut so that gets us to 34 senior listed players as it stands. Less if Towers and/or Nankervis are traded. We could have a lot of live picks in the draft this year.
i think any future delistings will take place after trade period when we know who we have left on our list.

I'd be surprised if they actually cut Davis. He's a tall. Plus with XR leaving that's another list spot.

The club is delisting/trading players in the order that will most upset fans.
By the time they get around to Towers...
Guaranteed someone will be demanding no less than a 1st rounder because that is what we paid for him and we developed him for all those years...OR
We can't afford to lose depth players like Towers....OR
Let's trade Tippett to free up cap space to keep Towers.

There's no way Marsh gets delisted. He would have played in the GF if it weren't for the fact the captain took his place. I even reckon he's above Laidler.. Murray didn't do much wrong in the reserves from the limited amount i saw of him
I agree, there is definitely more upside to Marsh than Laidler and with another preseason under his belt whilst he will never be anything 'special' he has the potential to be in that Marty Mattner type player in someone who just goes out every week and does his role for the team, week in week out with a minimal of fuss.

I agree with all 3 of these positions.

Towers 2 more

Have I told any of you guys how I believe Deano will be a key ingredient in our next p'ship team.

Keep the faith!

Suffer Bedders!
RW?
I believe since the club has backed my faith up with Towers being re signed, it's only fair that I am again entitled to contribute to the Dean Towers thread, as I wouldn't want Bedders & friends to miss out on reading about some of my thoughts on how I believe this guy will be critical to our success going forward.

Well done Deano!

Sure why not

I haven't been a huge fan, especially when he makes silly errors but I was mystified when he was dropped later in the year after some steady improvement. He could've been that genuine linebreaker in the GF IMO.

Yes and I didn't dare suggest that on here after the game but right after the final siren went I made the remark to those with me that he would have been better than 4 or 5 other players that day.
I made a similar remark with ROK after the 2014 GF debacle.

Towers would have offered more than Rohan, Papley, Richards in attack, as a mid & getting back to defend.
