Good, as he's slightly older they can get a 200 point discount compared to TK. I.e. their 3 firsts this year (they can keep 19 if they want and chuck in 2021 1st, but that must be valued at 18 and no more as per what I can only assume (from last year) is Geelong policy...

Gws will kindly send a 3rd round pick back with Cameron.

On another note, I do wonder if GWS will come hard for Brander. Was part of their zone, they were very keen on him, lost a couple of KPP this year.

I reckon targeting brander would be a much safer and cheaper $ wise than Jesse hogan .
If GWS came out of it with 15+ 20 + brander ( 15 and 20 will end up 20 and 25 )

Geelong get Cameron + 3rd (wce)

Wce Clarke and Langdon

Sorry, probably phrased that confusingly. The AFLPA are not getting involved, some on the BODE board just think they should.

I didn’t think the AFLPA would actually get involved, but Dangerfield has to be the worst players rep.

It shouldn’t be one of the top 10 players in the comp, should be someone more middle of the pack but a strong leader.

I doubt that young Mr Hogan will be playing much more football after this weekend...

I suppose they're always going to vote (I assume he's voted in by the other players) for someone high profile who can theoretically get as much media exposure as possible

Karma to Geelong after last year's trade period would be good but Wells has his ways and means to get things done ...... anything could happen .

Lets be really honest here, Geelong have been into Cameron for three years now and when you do that, you need to have a long term strategy in mind to get a deal done.

I don't for one minute doubt that the Cameron plan was front and foremost in The Dick Eaters, KELLY trade strategy as to just what they would need from us to help the Cameron deal get done a year out from the Kelly move.

It's partly why they played such hard ball two years ago with us, as they gambled that either Kelly would have a change of heart and stay, OR if he left they could get forward currency for a Cameron poach.
Like wise why they did the future first round trade with GC last year.
After last years draft the Dick Eaters had three first rounders at their disposal, to then ramp up the sell to Cameron as being able to get a deal done.

Geelong are a very well run Club and despite how we like trash talking Wells, he is a very shrewd and cunning operator.

The brains trust at Geelong would have planned for GWS to match and have a fall back position.

It was always an unreal expectation of the Geelong nuffies to think they would land Cameron and still hold on to their three first rounders.

As they say nothing fuels disappointment like expectation.

Reality Check.

Wells will get a deal and Cameron will be at Geelong next year, but they will loose at least two of their first rounders and some.

You think GWS will take two at the end of the day given they're not especially high picks?
Or you think it'd be two plus a fringe player or two plus a 2nd rounder next year (or similar?)

Funny if he ended up at the Crows in the PSD, especially after the Dangerfield thing.

I think the deal will be two first and a reasonable player (GWS will ask for one of Parfitt or Ratugolea ), but more likely:
Two firsts this year, next years second with a third going back to Geelong.

Casualties at Geelong will be Narkle, Constable and Cockatoo and maybe someone else, Clubs IMO would have interest in Lachie Fogarty.

With Smith , Cameron and Missy Higgins it's all chips in for the here and now for Scott.
