Yeah and being flippant about something that you haven't experienced can be a pretty sh*t thing to do when those that have experienced hear it or read it.

I really have no idea how you think saying its not prison is catering to the Dictator Dan crowd either.

Telling someone who says "this is like being in prison im really struggling with it" that they shouldnt ever compare their situation to prison and their situation isnt nearly that bad can be a pretty s**t thing to do as well.

Dictator Dan, Prison, both hyperbole. Youre criticizing the 2% of people that use those terms literally in spite of the vast majority who are using them to demonstrate how they feel.

Try to see it through their eyes and maybe pick the crowd to preach your (very relevant and pertinent) message about prison and detention.

Mate I'm struggling in lockdown, my partner is, my kid is, we've all had a rough time of it, I've also not replied to anyone in this thread or others saying they feel like they are in prison with a * off because you're not

I think they should be using a better analogy than that though

If they still want to control HQ then I'd just rapid test anyone coming off an international flight. Negative = Go home and isolate (if possible). Positive = Go to Hotel.

Really, for NSW and Vic they should be taking in anyone who has the ability to Home Quarantine and get on with it freeing up those other resources for returning interstate people.

Staying overnight at the in-laws on a rainy day?

i have a wife and family a house and backyard.
I WFH although I did 3-4 days before COVID WFH.. This lockdown not been great on me.
Never ending in Vic compared to other states.

I know people who have it worse than me.
Small businesses who do not know if they go on.
People who lost their jobs or cannot work now.
Only reason my Nephew still has a roof over his head is they cannot evict him. So far behind now in rent now

I know a few single people who live alone in apartment blocks with no backyard or small units
These people I been keeping in touch with.
Everyone going through their own problems.
Mental health scars from COVID will live on for decades.

There is no reason now that we are keeping residents out of Vic and basically homeless other than our government are campaigners

Luckily I'm outside their 5km radius

I feel ya

I'm not affected as much as people so I don't want to whinge - but I'm now 2 years in to my job without a break and need a holiday - first world problem, sure - but now don't want to risk paying to book anything for fear of cancellations, don't necessarily want to go away anywhere in Vic due to s**t weather.. Can't socialise with friends, can't go out to a pub or dinner, can't see my parents and I have to go to work in the [closed] office everyday and spend more time on this forum than is probably a good idea heh

So the Vic Liberals are still the Vic Liberals, couldn't even get their list on their own press statement right with Matthew Guy having to say end the lockdown should read end the curfew

But they have actually listed some valid points and yes the curfew makes no sense

I'm with them on 4-7 100%

This idea that the National Cabinet plan was some sort of fleshed out detailed roadmap that is set in stone rather than an A4 sheet of paper that says subject to change on that A4 sheet not so much

Reckon with 12 and up able to be vaccinated we should see high schools returning in some form for Term 4 and it would be nice to know that

I think Victorians in general understood the need to do the day by day thing for lockdowns last year and into early this year (as difficult as that was for families and businesses) but at this point when we know what were targeting its pretty poor that we can get a detailed program of easing (dependent on vax targets) of restrictions.

Classic.

Should show people living interstate why those of us in Victoria are so confident Andrews will manage to be re-elected no matter what he does.

The LNP here are useless.

Categorically with point 6. There is absolutely no reason for the Govt not to share this if they stand so strongly by it.

Yeah so much unnecessary secrecy from state and federal governments on so many topics

Mind you I kind of feel like we Matthew Guy was Premier and Dan Andrews was opposition leader he'd have point 6 on his statement too :rainbow:

Yeah this whole we dont have a plan yet that they run with every ******* time

Like are we not 18 months in, I know Delta and Vaccines is different to Alpha and no Vaccines but its not like the Doherty Modelling and other models have not been available to them for months, or that they haven't been telling us they've been working on these plans for months, so why do we have to wait until Sunday, why announce on Sunday that you will provide the plan in the next few days then a few days later say no Sunday

He did this last year, he doesn't like telling us anything

If small outdoor gatherings are allowed, should the 5km radius be changed?
Most transmissions are inside so should the radius only apply to indoor meetings, and let people exercise outdoor further if they want? Plenty of runners/cyclists would be no danger but are still bound by the 5km limit as if they were hosting a rave.

The issue then becomes a case of the many people finding themselves at the beach..

Such a big face palm - we've been in this situation for how bloody long but "we are holding late night talks to discuss strategy" the night before an announcement.

WTAF.

Yesterday Vic 67% first dose and 41% second dose
5.4 mill adults in Vic according to gov 24% of people live outside Melb Metro
Still leaves 4.1 mill adults in Melb Metro
Be nice to give something to the almost 1.7 mill who are double vaxed in Melb

Although I assume Brett and Dan will say there are still
2.5 mill not double vaxed
1.4 mill not vaxed at all
So when do we draw the line when do we re-start opening to vaxed people.
I still say there be 5-10% who never get vaxed ever. Maybe higher
Do we still stay locked in for them.
I booked in my 12 and 14 year old within 2 hours on Monday.
What is stopping 1.4 mill doing the same.

Also think it sux for business

Both fed and state govs do not want to mandate vax
So up to the businesses to in some cases.

I know a lot of unvaxed who say 80% they be able to do everything so other people can get vaxed not them
