Given their soft tissue injuries this year I’m sure the media can make a story out of it

Thats completely different though, that’s trusting a player more.
Not bringing a player in because he’s easier to drop becuase he won’t perform.
They clearly trust Murphy more than Draper, that’s not disputable.

Eh, that part is debatable as the other reason is role, I.e. we do not see Draper as a small forward and do not want an additional midfield rotation (which is fair enough).

After all, the depth chart is king.

Was chat on radio (not Jarman, may have been ABC) on the weekend that Mattner is all but signed to go to Port next year, and as above, it was stated that Burgess was a target for Essendon for next season as they address their under performance.

I’ve been hearing it for a few weeks now, yes they did mention it on ABC Grandstand SA last Saturday. Where there’s smoke there’s fire, whether Mattner chooses to go or not is another thing.
