Good to see Talia back. Think he was on the outer with the club for awhile after we didn't re-sign him.

He was such a champion of the club, great to see him back.

It's weird how we hang on for dear life to so many yet make the hard calls on others. He'd seen us let others play until their bodies almost fell apart, then he missed a season to injury and was told "ya done". I can totally see where some feelings of "why not me?" came in.

He was as done as anyone we let go was done, its not weird really. Most players want to and think they can keep going well beyond what they are capable of.

Tals is a good fella, he never hated the club just certain people making the decisions.

I always got the sense that he was a guy with really high standards for himself who would at times be frustrated when others didn’t match that. I still remember how he used his club champion speech in 2014 to basically give the whole club a bake about needing to live up to it’s potential.

My guess is that he perhaps considered leaving in 2019 like a lot of others, but instead chose to stay and make the place better. If you made that choice, only to be told two years later that your contribution was not required, it’d be a pretty big kick in the guts.

Maybe it’s just being publicised more but it does seem like the past players side of things is being pushed a lot harder, which I think is a good thing. Overall it just feels like across the board the club is doing a lot of things right which is nice after the last 15 years or so.

I reckon that McLeod thing was the catalyst for them to push it a lot more. That was all a storm in a teacup but the public perception wasn't great. Also got a lot better and less pig headed people in charge these days.

Was it though?
Has he stepped back in at the club or a game?

I love Kris Massie's comment:

I haven’t stopped speaking so positively about what the Adelaide Football Club has done — not just for past players, but for the children and families connected to the club. Every year it just gets better, and especially in the last couple of years, the way the club has honoured past players with dignity, respect, and genuine care has been nothing short of outstanding.
A huge credit to Annie, Sauce Jacobs, and the entire team involved. The way they’ve embraced the past and actively reconnected to the club is powerful. It’s great to see, and it means so much.

Not sure where to put this guys, but I'll be in Adelaide over the weekend, unfortunately cant get to the game.

Whats the best pub in the city to watch it??
I'd be checking what they're screening. Some pubs will have the Wallabies vs Lions game on

Someone is going to have to help me identifying people (I've worked out the bloke who looks like he's an older son of the players is Lachy Sholl).

1. Who is the other young bloke who looks like he's a current player helping out?
2. Who are the other two blokes with Eddie Hocking in the last photo?
3. Who are the three people in the third last photo?
4. Who is the bloke with his on and daughter in the fifth last photo? It's on the tip of my tongue and killing me.

Aside from that great pics.

Are you able to see this link?

Been thinking about this recently.
Is there anyone in the AFL that deserves a flag more than Tex?
For everything this bloke has been through I don’t think there’s many.
Boak?
Docherty?
Good call, would agree
Boak probably, Docherty possible
Port would say Robbie Gray. Few did more to help them get close
Pavlich at Freo? Carried them for many years, could have gone elsewhere to win a flag but stayed loyal
Chris Grant also very loyal player

Thinking more so current players, Docherty recently retired but a worthy inclusion

In terms of player quality, I'd say Zach Merrett, Nat Fyfe and Patrick Cripps
