Gameplay or graphics? Or both?

Can't say I'm surprised though.

Both. I still have faith in the single player though. 6vs6 MP on tiny maps was never going to go down well after the Battlefield-esq MP from the original. The graphics options have been locked on lower settings, also... which seems kind of dumb. Again though, the leaked beta was stuck on medium settings DX9 and it looked stunning, so I'm expecting something close to the best looking game out there come release time.

It's makes you scratch ya head though, a demo is there to sell a game and they dont run it near what it will/should be, it just turns people away and with some of the comments out there they have lost sales.

Yeah it does. Yerli is a complete bell-end, imo. If all this consolized FOV, lack of graphics options etc carry through to the full game, then Crytek would have really shot themselves in the foot for no good reason.

Crysis 1 (along with Warhead) sold more than 5million copies on PC, allowed Crytek to go on a massive dev buying spree, and all Yerli had to say about it was that pirates had forced them into console development, which is BS.

Crysis 1 was a game caught between console generations built with an engine that made it flat out impossible to bring the game to the consoles... Crysis 2 was always going to be multiplatform no matter what happened with the sales, especially because it's needed as a demo for potential CE3 licensee's.

The point of my rant isn't that Crytek should or should not have shifted to multiplatform development. I understand the potential financial benefits of such a move.. it's just that Crytek needs to understand that PC gamers have been good to them, have made them very, very wealthy and expect Crysis 2 to be a fully featured PC game. As I said, I don't believe the demo will be representative of the full version, but if it is... then Crytek won't be seeing Crysis 1 level sales on the PC for C2, and the console versions are absolutely not guaranteed to be a success, either.

yeah I pretty much had all yellow bar games in the couple of hours I put into it but I didn't feel any noticable lag. I was near the top of the leaderboards for most of the night (which is very rare in my case:p)

They've definitely sped up the movement. It's like the've combined the movement and armour abilities of Halo with the gunplay of COD. PC players might not like it but I think this could be big on consoles - one day, when the COD train slows

Couple of other things I noticed is that they've made melee's a two hit kill now instead of one which is great and I'm pretty sure that the armour drains quicker, so you have to use it wisely

Connection is a lot better today, finding Aussies every game now, and it now displays the ping properly (I'm usually 3-bar).

As said, melee is two hit kill, which is forcing people to stop panicking and just smashing the melee button to get a quick kill, most times I've died up close have been from bullets now and not melee, which was the opposite the last time around. Armor definitely drains quicker too.

The new map Pier 17 is pretty good, when first playing on it I got the feeling that I had seen the Pier before, then I remembered, it's in GTA IV (Algonquin). Though the GTA version is not as detailed and is much smaller.

Well i thought i would give it another crack and after 5 mins i couldn't believe how stupid i was goin back for more.
YUK YUK YUK
I wont be going near it and even if someone gave this to me for free i dont think i wouldn't waste my time on it either.

The new Game Informer issue that hits the stands tomorrow (Saints Row 3 cover) gave this a 9/10

Had a quick flick through the mag at work, so didn't read comments, just looked at scores for reviews.

Interesting considering the feedback on here

Demo should be up tomorrow on the US PSN, so I'll still give it a go.

But expectations are LOW.

Well i played around 5-6 games and im bored.
The controls are a little clunky/heavy (reminds me of KZ2 a lot)

Its also hard to know if you are actually hitting them with your bullets.

The graphis aren't to bad, definately not the next best thing in consoles like they have said.
No real framerate issues.

The gameplay is just not that fun imo, i'll give it another go but i just didn't feel the love (and i topped the leaderboard twice and finished second twice)

There are killstreaks, not that i even noticed it untill i died.

After giving the demo/beta a run i cant see myself buying it, and with KZ3 then Homefront released not long before it i reckon it might hit struggle street.

Overall its very much a bit MEH

Agreed Sack Sack.

I've so far put in about an hours worth of gametime just then and I'm really not feeling it. Up to level 5 now too, was gonna go 1 more and unlock the objective mode, but cbf for now. May give it another go if I feel like it.

First things first. The movement is alright, it's not overly heavy, but it's not overly quick either. It's like they've hit the point where it's not COD, but it's not KZ2 and it just feels off. It's not pacey (which is disappointing) and it really feels like you have to watch your corners too much while running and moving since the reaction time of the player is quite long (you take a bit of a few more steps when stopping and can overshoot a lot).

Graphically the game looks fine, although there's a bit of pop in and draw in here and there. The framerate was mostly solid although when you put on invisibility it drops INCREDIBLY low making that perk ****en shite.

Speaking of the invisibility and armour it completely clashes once again with the speed of the game. With either on you have to watch how much you sprint and in the end it means that you either walk around everywhere and not see anyone or you sprint and lose the perk at the perfect time when you see someone!

Don't like the implementation of killstreaks, as far as I'm aware you HAVE to pick up those dog tags. Again this is something that clashes with the speed of the game. Why should I have to go and trek over or backtrack to where I killed someone just to activate my killstreak? If I kill 3-5-7 people I should have the killstreak ffs!

Again as you mentioned Sacka it is incredibly hard to know when you're shooting someone, either the hitmarkers show up sporadically or they just don't seem to show up at all (I literally don't remember seeing one show up with the default gun). At one point I unloaded an entire clip into two guys for them to nail me with a few bullets.

Also noticed A LOT of 1 hit kills, I don't quite get this, it seems a shot to the head does you in immediately? Maybe it was just I had taken damage and didn't notice, but watching the killcam back numerous times it looked as if I died from just 1 bullet quite a lot.

I was even put as host in my last game and the game felt just as shit in terms of hit detection as the previous games. I was using the shotgun and nailing blokes from close distance and it just never felt right, half the time I was barely getting a shot into them as well.

One thing I found strange was that I had about 25 headshots (I think, VERY hard to see the letters on SD, may have to move it out to the HDTV to see what that stat is...was definitely in the 20's though) from only 36 or so kills. Seems crazy I could be that spot on for headshots, ridiculous ratio.

Last poor thing (and honestly I'd mention positives if I felt there were many) was that the maps aren't good. Disliked Skyline, although it's ok, it's still very average. It just doesn't have a whole lot of flow and while it's not overly large, it just seems there's too many rooms and areas that you don't find the action happening all over the map much at all.

Pier 17 while looking VERY nice (I liked being able to swim too, pretty cool look and feel...but still overall useless), is WAY too big and open for the player limit in the match. Found myself struggling to reach 8 kills on the map for the entire match.

**** that's a lot of writing. Sorry guys.:o

Eerything you said is spot on HBK, regarding the controlls i think they might have tweaked them because i reckon they had improved the second time around.

Gettings 9s in reviews. After Homefront, Im giving FPS one more chance
Yeah, my plan was if Homefront sucked the egg (which it did) then I would trade it in for this.

So has anyone got it yet? Suprised there hasn't been a post today

Have it on PS3, looks amazing.

Can't really get into it as I have to take off for the evening but the controls, sounds and picture is 10/10

Got if for nothing too after trading in Homefront :thumbsu:
