Bought it yesterday & played it for a few hours this morning. I liked the original version on XBOX360 to be honest so far.

Agree with a comment above regarding EBGames pricing, apart from some random cheap games they have in their discount bins they are hell expensive. I know they have that seen it elsewhere cheaper bullshit but **** stores that do that they know they are dear lower your prices.

Snowflake alone makes this game entirely worth it.

Loved the first game and played through it 3 or 4 times so far. This one has everything the first has and then some, most notably the combo weapons.
Started out following the story on my first playthrough but I've now decided to concentrate on collecting PP so that on my next run, the psychopath battles aren't such a bitch.
On the subject of the psychopaths, the ones I've met so far haven't been as memorable as those in the first and their death scenes not as gruesome/funny. For instance there's been nothing so far to compare to Adam the Clown, both in the creepiness of the character and the brutality of his death.

Overall though I'm loving DR2 and can see myself playing through many times

Geez. I can't even get past the first psychopath I've encountered. In a bathroom, mission titled "role models" or something.
Getting cut up with glass. My weapons do jack shit. Jump & kick does nothing. Unloaded 2 x 20 bullets into his face from the merc assualt rifles. I die. Have to re-load my save, run across 2 freakin malls, die again. I can't leave these missions forever due to the time limit but think I need to power up my guy a bit.
Any idea what level your health bars increase? It takes very little time to die. Think im on 4of12 health bars.

Where's the damn try again button. Takes me 5 minutes to get to the boss battle I'm on. If i discover something cool on the way or kill 100 zombies etc, die & it counts for nothing. Like it never happened once you re-load. Better stats tracking would be nice. So many times, shit i've done may as well never happened.

Todd07, as you seem to know alittle about the game, is there any kind of carry over for new play throughs?
You say you're building your PP? That for the current game or is there an option to replay it with better stats?
If it weren't for the time limit, I'd spend the next 3 days stuffing around in the mall (and saving my game every 5mins) building my character up a bit more.

Specialist stores are more expensive due to the fact they don't have the profit margin found in other areas such as TV's, furniture etc

If Game or EB lowered their prices to $79 for new releases, they would go out of business....

Do you even know how much a game costs to buy for a retailer?

I would love to know this information.

Can't blame the retailers. It's the wholesalers in Australia who rip us off compared to the rest of the world. They're the bad guys here.

The thing is that EB are a big franchise company. They could afford to cut their prices. They get sales on reputation as the game store alone. It's a reputation that at the moment they don't deserve to keep until they offer something more than disc scratch protection and bogus extended warranties. They don't have a good range, they don't have good prices, as long as we live in a capitalist world I don't see why people should support them.

Local game stores I have more time for. If you're looking for a rare game they'll help you and might host competitions and such. Dungeon Crawl for example will import overseas titles like they did with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and I got it about 2 weeks earlier from them at a very good price.

Once you pass the game once you can start a new game using the NewGame+ feature. This allows you to start your new game with Chuck as he was when you finished the previous playthrough. This means PP, money, unlockables and possibly some other stuff will carry over to the new game.

You're free to do the bolded part if you wish. If you don't make the time limit on one of the story missions, select CONTINUE on the pop-up screen and you're free to do whatever you want. The only major consequence is you won't get the best ending and you can do that on a subsequent playthrough anyway.

Try to get into the habit of saving when ever you pass a bathroom, it will save a lot of frustration if you do happen to die. It is easy to just get lost in what you're doing and end up losing a couple of hours by stumbling into a psycho battle unprepared.

Guns in DR2 are next to useless on the psychopaths. The developers obviously wanted you to use the combo-weapons on them.
For example, my strategy to beat the guy in the bathroom is as follows. Highlight to reveal -> I stayed near the door and lured him away from the stalls. Once he did the big jumping attack I dodged out of the way and while he composed himself I smacked him with a combo weapon. Weapons like the light sword (gems + flashlight), defiler (sledgehammer + fire axe) and the driller (drill + spear) will work wonders. Don't get too greedy and try to land multiple hits, as you will just end up copping some yourself<-
That kind of strategy of waiting for a opening, striking and retreating works well with a majority of psychos

I think EB has quite a large range TBH.

Many more titles than when i walk into a GAME, Gametraders or even JB

Sure, you're not going to find weird obscure titles unless you get really lucky, but you can even now order stuff before release as a "special order" that will only available via order, as they won't carry more stock than what gets ordered for those rarer titles that don't warrant a full purchase from the publisher

But i digress, this thread is about DR2, i'm sure there's an EB bashing thread somewhere where we can bad mouth EB until the cows come home

Glad that I only hired it.

Boring! Room of zombies, follow the arrow to another room of zombies. The weapons all feel the same and the most fun I had was with the crossbow.

Same here
glad I only hired it, doesn't feel much different to the first game which makes it get old very fast..

I finished this a couple of days ago. Went through once and just failed the story missions in order to level up, and then finished it with the S ending. It was a lot of fun, although after 20 hours of playing, I don't think I'll be in any rush to play any more for a long time.

I've been playing this for a bit of fun here and there, usually do some co-op when I see my cousin playing, great fun playing with someone you know and both have mic's. And yesterday I had a mate over and I thought I'd try out the multiplayer (TIR) and it was a blast. Great mindless fun
