Can we please offload Mckenzie at last?? If not seeing him impersonate a footballer against Pav last year was enough, tonight we saw once again how a road cone would make a formidable opponent against opposition.

Did you watch his final series last year? was voted player of the finals by WCE he held Cloke 0 goals and Petire 1 Goal ( at the time were the inform forward of the comp)

Sack

Woosha and whole coaching staff

Hire

Alan Richardson or Mark Williams, maybe Eade. With the right coach and gameplan we can win a flag next year. No time for rookies. Richardson has been in the system a long time.

Trade

Priddis
Waters

Delist

Adam Selwood
Embley

Go after

fast skillful midfielders. Not sure who is off contract but we should be looking at Gold Coast and GWS. Leave no stone unturned, Risch, Gibbs, Michael Walters, find out who isn't happy. Talk to Chris Yarran and guarantee him a midfield role.
Have a crack at someone from the WAFL who is a fast skillful midfielder.

Play

Wellingham in the back pocket
Kerr in the forward pocket
None of this tapping down to kerr and priddis and getting wrapped up and turning the ball over
S Selwood as a tagger when we need to shut someone down
Schoey-dog on the wing

hope it does not happen but if i were west coast i would be going hard after conca.wa boy playing some very good footy.

Zorko has re-signed with Brisbane hasn't he? Would love a player like him at the Eagles. Really fast, tackles hard and his intensity is high all game.

Sadly we'd have to give up too much. I can see us getting pick 8 or 9. I would not give a top 10 pick away for Conca. And our 2nd pick would be to low.

In regards to players out at this point, what I think will most likely happen...

Delist:
Hams

Retire:
Nicoski
Embley
Selwood

Possible Trade:
Brown to Saints

That's 5 outs
A few other possible outs, but we will need some delist fodder for 2014 also (cox, kerr, glass, butler potential 2014 retirements?)

Agreed that our presumed top-10 pick is way too much for Conca. I'd love to have him at the club, but is he the type of player that we need? Reminds me a fair bit of Masto actually. Save the pick for the draft unless a genuine star that fills a need nominates us. In an ideal world, Sheed for 1st pick, Garlett for 2nd pick and a KP with the third.

Double Embley out? Agreed :p

I also think Hams is signed on for next year too. I think he needs to go he was handy last year but given his age he is not going to get any better and would rather play Newman.

I think we need to consider letting Dick go too..he has not played a senior AFL game since 2010 and his body doesn't seem to hold up.

Three players i would put on the trade table, purely based on maybe having some currency. Clubs are getting smarter, and you cannot offer a polished turd and expect a gold nugget in return.

Matt Rosa- just don't see him taking it to the next level, has now played 100 games and IMO has not gone to the next level of consistency needed to be a very good player, still only rates as a middle tier player. Wellingham when fit can play the exact same role as Rosa either wing or half back.

Will Schofield- Would get a high draft pick or player, given that Blayne Wilson looks a likely type and could easily play the same role, might be worth seeing what would be offered for him. Would only do it for a 1st round draft pick.

Ashley Smith- Test the waters to see what clubs are prepared to offer for him.

Dom Sheed with 29 touches and 4 goals, 3 minutes to go against Vic Country. Eagles please do the right thing and make it happen.

If he is available I suspect we would take him. As I said earlier I think we will have pick 8 or 9. Could be touch and go.

Maybe we could put a player like Rosa up along with our first pick say pick 9 to another team possibly GWS for a bit of a pick upgrade or even Mitch Brown to Saints but they want Boyd so don't think that will happen

GWS and GC aren't in need of inside midfielder, neither are the Dogs.

Brisbane, potentially might be after a Black replacement.

StKilda clearly need more gun midfielders. The type doesn't matter.

North Melbourne don't need inside midfielders.

We're not without a chance to get Sheed if we finish 10-12th.

Will be a top 5 pick from the sounds of it...

It's hard to say. IMO Boyd, Aish and Scharenberg will go top 3. If norf are below us on the ladder the might need to use their first pick on McDonald.
I could imagine Dunstan and Bontempelli maybe going before sheed. Hopefully someone before us needs an elite outside prospect and goes for kelly. He may last to us, but it's too early to speculate I guess.

Well, since we're all doing the dump/carry/grab list review:

Politely thank for services after they refuse a new contract:
Worsfold - but who knows. Maybe 2014 will be another 2011.

Ask nicely to retire:
Embley - makes too many important clangers despite his intensity at the game.
A. Selwood - too slow, average footballer, we have better options eg. McGinnity.
Nicoski - perma-injured.

Forcibly remove from list:
Dick - perma-injured (same logic as Nicoski).

Shop around:
Sheppard - plays the same game as Gaff, and Gaff is better. Still has the 'potential' tag though.
Smith - I don't know what it is. He's had opportunity, and might bring better value in return. Depends on what a new coach thinks of him.

Listen to offers for:
Brown - he's not Glass, who will probably go round another year. Might be a better option to replace him at the end of 2014.

Jury is out on:
Hams - seems to kill it in the WAFL, doesn't translate to AFL level.
Dalziell - kills it in the WAFL, plays some good games at AFL level, disappears completely in others.
Bennell - not sure if he's worth a rookie look
Butler - might be worth having as the backup. Shouldn't be considered best 25 on this season's form.

Others:
Waters - has currency, but wouldn't accept a trade. Such is the AFL where the players have the power.
Cox - on current form you'd have to think 2014 will be a handover year
Glass - will go around again, someone has to take his role and no-one's really done it.

Draft:
Don't draft beyond the 3rd round unless they are F/S picks or rookie upgrades.

There's a potential 7+ outs there, we should always look at trading up picks and bringing in useful players. A lot of the young WA born targets are being signed up, so we need to look outside the 'go home' basket which netted us Cripps and Wellingham last year.

Why delist Brad Dick? Picked up a one week hammy and suddenly his career is over?

He was promoted for a reason and his WAFL form has been fine, coming off no preseason.

Might be worth going 4 rounds.

Shepp and Smith won't be going anywhere.

Form pretty meh and he's been consistently injured.
