No tagging and terrible goal kicking and most important not hard enough.

Ps how easy did Melbourne chip the ball around they had a million marks.

In fairness Lex the game went past him after the 3rd man up rule change. That was years ago
What could he have done structurally today that would’ve made a difference? Melbourne got a run on 2nd quarter by our defenders spoiling each other, few out the back maybe a bit lucky. Then 3rd and most of last qtr we miss goals.

The 22 (few exceptions) we put out there today got paid more than most of us earn in a month (or a few months) today.

Think about that.

Think about the fact that we continue to give opportunities to players barely good enough for VFL.

Think about the fact we did a 'review' tinkered around the edges and left the glaring problem/s untouched?

Think about the fact we have an admin too gutless to make the tough calls. They just don't make any.

Think about the fact we continue doing the same things making the same mistakes over and over and over again and have done for years now.

But hey, we've got a shiny new training facility.

Put it on the players. They blow easy chances and run into each other (Naughton).
There comes a time when a great coach realises the team needs a fresh voice. Where beverage is delivering yet another year on the relationship between Confucius - Ancient Teacup making and the Art of the Quilt, other coaches are actually driving the game forward.

We have changed nothing since 2021 and we are grim reaping the result.

Hurts that he will be gone come seasons end, $$$ always wins unfortunately. I hope loyalty shows through, but like all world sports, I feel its about individual glory than winning a GF nowadays.
He’ll stay

So hard to watch. On what planet are VDM and McNeil better than Caleb Daniel. Or Scott- he is not flash but doesn’t constantly fumble and can play under pressure.

I also get that Macrae is injured but I can’t believe how players that have never played good games get picked in front of stars like Macca and Daniel.

Such a difference between game day composure and looking good on the track without real pressure.

And then we drop our heads at let the arrogant f’rs kick Hollywood goals. The walk over at the end is Loser stuff / not good enough.

Absolutely Smashed in marks - so much for our aerial improvements. Gawn murdered English.

Of the new

- Sanders looked good until he was cooked - 30 degrees and first game so no surprise.

- Bramble has shown some good things. 20+ is a good return and hasn’t looked terrible

- Coffield OK - hasn’t done anything noticeable - looks to be in good position but slow. Kept Fritsch fairly quiet until the end. Khamis has done more but did get caught not getting back to position.

- Harmes was terrible - looks really really slow - particularly decision making - probably gave away more penalties than most of the rest of the team. Not sure if he was doing grunt work but….

- Harvey Gallagher was excellent for a first game. Game and tackles and good hands and decision making.

Everyone dead on their feet - Rhylee West still running fast and powerfully. Jamarra looked dangerous and I reckon beat Lever but Lobb and Flea were just OK.

Our best probably Bont, JJ, probably Libba even though Melbournes big 3 beat ours. Trelor quiet.

May gave Naughty a hell of a lesson - May got caught out early and was pissed off at himself - then was probably best on ground putting everything into every contest hunting the ball where Naughty looked disinterested and kept falling back to the square for easy possessions and was completely beaten.

But generally that was the difference - Melbourne attacks the ball with power and purpose - we seem to want to go around the play and almost every 50/50 was won by Melbourne and many we hesitated.

You might be right and I’m usually no Bevo sympathiser, but the players have to own today. Too many basic errors.

Hats off to anyone who turned up at the G and stayed for the duration. Never done it before but I’m emailing the club. Stop taking the members and $ for granted.

And * right off with this Ballarat bollocks. Can’t believe we are throwing away our first home game for a few $.

Don't blame the players when the wrong players are picked. That was a horrible team selected and anyone who tipped us today looking through rose coloured glasses.

McNumpty and a dude who couldnt hold down a spot at Hawthorn both ahead of McRae.

2 ďebutants was also a mistake.

Cody still flying for pack marks because nobody has told him to stop doing it.

Bevo is just a piece of the puzzle, fundamentally it’s the club from the top down

Bramble and Gallagher were fine. McNeil can’t play again & VDM very meh.

This was a combo of poor coaching, selection and preparation. This may be the beginning of a wasted year and the search for a new coach fast. Dismally disappointed!!!

Maybe we could move the ball faster, man up their cheap easy passess all over the ground, have the forwards lead to diffferent areas and not all clog the same area, keep the ball away from May, don't be afraid to take the game on. Not the same old Dogs we are so predictable. This is on the coaching staff, yeah some players are not up to it but all teams weed these players out

Basic mistakes were the difference today.

Selections sure (how many are involved in that?), but we completely wasted momentum.

We tried those things in the 3rd quarter, just couldn’t convert. Can’t piss away chances when you get a sniff against a good side.

Honestly, I didn’t think it was THAT bad, until that last quarter showed heaps about our character, absolutely given up.

It should be from the start not when the game is lost. This should have been embedded at all training sessions and played during match sim and practice matches.
