No doubt without ACLS i would say he would be up with Ugle-Hagan and McDonald
Yep I agree with you there, if we somehow use pick 44 ahead of Brand and Eyre bids there are a few key forwards from Victoria that are going under the radar like Ollie Lord, Liam McMahon, Liam Kolar and Fraser Rosman (Rosman 194cm but plays more the Finlayson role)

just added Wright, have Eyre. took Jones last year.
I'd be prioritising mids. Maybe a KPD.
O'Driscoll & Perkins at a minimum,
Maybe split, or go Cox or Reid.

not sure a KPF is that critical right now.
Our midfield needs a lot of work.
Dodoro mentioned tonight that they may draft another key forward which may not include Eyre so that’s where that thought comes from, I just did my rolling mock and funny enough looky who I picked for us 😂

Or do we need to grab a forward with Wright Eyre Jones Stringer up there? Maybe plump for a Duval

I'd go Cox and use him on the back flank as an intercept defender as well as a ball user from defense.

If we have Cox and Ridley with the ability to intercept it takes a lot of pressure off our KPD and would look at getting a KPD in next year either in the draft, as a mature age or a trade target (we will have BZT and Brand).

yeah, i feel this is the best outcome for us
Perkins' highlights and reviews look special. Sort of player we haven't had for a while that makes things happen.
O'Driscoll for the size in the middle to go with Caldwell & Reid cos we can build our spine in this offseason for the next 7-8 years if we're lucky.

Given that the top 7 looks pretty set who would be the 1 or 2 players you most like to see Essendon get. Is it Reid an Perkins? Or are they who you think we'll take over personal preference?

A bit of both. I prefer Cox over Reid but I think we prefer Reid. The good thing about those two and our two NGA players is that they have versatility and although the look best on certain positions we could easily focus their development in whatever area we see fit.

Given the athletic traits, could be the Saad/McKenna replacement...but tall.

I think i have my heart set on Reid, Perkins and O'Driscoll.

Yep wouldn't mind at all if we got Perkins, O'Driscoll and Reid/Cox think they fit our needs perfectly and look great players.

Agree with your assessment on Cox and that's personally why I lean him but wouldn't begrudge us for going Reid either as we need a real KPD and I think he fits that bill better than Cox.

Hooker needs a role for next year too.
Got Bryan & Crauford too (if either can play fwd..a la McInerney)

still like the idea of a beast like Callow if we can get 44 up to nab him

Agree with you here as I said those two picks with Cox/Reid look like great picks to me. Same with you I have a preference to Cox but along with our academy picks think we're very well placed.

i get this feeling Perkins is one we'd look back on and wish we took.
O'Driscoll feels like a need given Dunkley didn't come off. Unless we find someone in the additional trade period

Reid, Perkins and Cox could work, but i feel Perkins isn't enough to add to the midfield along with Caldwell.
3 additions would be good.

Yep. If there is an additional trade period and we still can't get the Dunkley deal done for less than 2 first round picks then I'd nearly get Brodie in for a late pick. A bit like Wright he's young and is a pretty low risk option and would allow us to maybe go those 2 talls in this draft

Brodie, Hewett, Constable
Maybe collingwood want to dump Adams for a couple of future 3rds. :P

Assuming JUH, McDonald, Hollands, Thilthorpe, DBG, Phillips & Campbell are off the board.

6. Reid - line up a full back for the future
7. O'Driscoll - We need size, and from the reports can play inside mid, wing & HBF.
8. Perkins - Torn between him and Cox. the write ups on Perkins and his talent feel too good to pass up

Reid + Brand + Draper + Eyre + Wright.-> spine
Mids: Heppell (28), Shiel (27), Merrett (25), Parish (23), McGrath (22), Caldwell (20), O'Driscoll (18), Perkins (18)
Wings: Langford (24), Perkins (18), O'Driscoll (18)

2021 line up
Redman Hooker Francis
Ridley Hurley Zaka
Merrett Shiel Langford
Parish Stewart Tippa
Jones Wright Stringer
Draper Heppell McGrath
Smith Caldwell O'Driscoll Perkins

good, not great. the HBF would look better had McKenna not left.
2 of Brand, Reid or Zerk need to come off.
We really need some pace out of the backline. Surely not Zaka. I'd actually try and turn Guelfi into our rebounding defender as he actually is quicker than you might think and there virtually is no one else save for Hind and he may not get a game. We could be really slow now that we have lost Saad, McKenna and Raz (even though he barely played).

(1) i’m not sure we go tall, especially with so much untried talls on the list as it stands.

(2) trading one of our three with say GWS for two of there pick in the teens would be ideal. O’Driscoll slides outside the top imho.

(3) for our picks;
- hybrid forward
- small defender
- big midfielder
- Brand (KPD)
- Eyre (KPF)

What if we trade up to pick 2, but Adelaide take Logan McDonald? Doggies would have just enough points to match a bid on JUH if that was our second option.
Simple. Don’t trade up until Adelaide have used pick 1.

It would be glorious if we bid on reef
I really hope we do. Trade up to pick 2 on draft night for McDonald if he isn't taken 1, then use 8 as a bid on Reef and if they match then take O'Driscoll.

we have lost a lot of pace in defence. But when you think that Saad was a rookie draft, McKenna a Cat B (? cant recall exactly) & Fantasia pick 55 - adding pace late is probably not hard.

DFA, ND & PSD + supplementary period (if that goes ahead) will be interesting.
