Very funny video!

How much of an effect will bad karma have on me? I've been stealing guns and ammo from just about every house in Megaton lol.

Bad karma just means that most of the characters will react different too you. You can still do the missions that affect the main story, just some of the side stuff will not be the same if you played good karma. I wouldn't worry most of us here who play good or bad first time through will play the opposite the second time through.

In other news I reached level 20 last night and by the sounds of it have done very little in terms of the main mission. I can't help but try to find us much as I can wandering the wasteland. I took the explorer perk to open up the map and even though I had found a stack of locations on my own, DAMM are there still some more to explore.

Only thing a little disspointing Hightlight->finally went to Tennpenny towers last night and after the cut scene of not letting ghouls in I wander in with a ghoul as a companion, WTF. Plus the ghouls allways talk of the Brotherhood shooting at them on sight. Not at the bloke standing next to me. Would have been good if all thing tied together.Having said that still the best game I have ever played by miles.

I keep coming across those access terminal computers that are supposedly "very easy" to unlock, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Where do I get the passwords?

You can't find the actual passwords anywhere mate. Its a puzzle, you have to solve it.

Chose a password and it'll tell you how many letters are correct. If its like, 1 out of 7, your next choice should be a word completely different from the first. If its like 5 out of 7, its pretty easy to work out what to try next.

After 3 goes, if you haven't got the password, back out and try again. A 4th incorrect password will lock the computer.

I had no idea you could back out and start again. That should make my next play through a little easier.

Don't you guys know about the bracket trick?

Find a bracket like so (){}<> for example {DF/WLKDJ@}. If you put your cursor or mouse or whatever over the bracket and it highlights more than one character click on it. You'll either get "DUD REMOVED" which removes a dud password or "ALLOWANCE REPLENISHED"

What I do is usually select one word so that the allowance replenished doesn't count for nothing then search for brackets.

Nice I'm gonna try that out.

What's up with that missing android quest? When I click on it it just takes me back to Canterbury Connons and I don't get an option to ask any new questions.

I ended up just wiping the entire town out and stealing this key so I could open the safe up in that room. Do I need the people in Canterbury or can I just leave them dead? Lol.

I saved it before and after I killed them so I can always choose which direction I want to take.

Completed the game today.

I want to start again already, none of the northern areas were explored. Should I start again or just go back to my last save and explore the north instead of completing the final mission?

I managed to get to level 20 about 5 mins before the end. Perfect timing.

Okay, so I'm a little confused at the moment. I reached Tenpenny Towers and killed him with a head shot, but when I go back to Crowley he'll only give me 25 caps because he wasn't killed with a shot to the head.

I've done it twice and still I get the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Here's how I completed the quest I think

Found a tape somewhere to start the quest. When I got to Rivet City Zimmer asked me about the android, I used speech skill to tell him that he died because some crazy chick walked up to me randomly one time and told me to do that. That was it

You can also
Find out who the andriod is, use the access code on him and get an awesome Energy Weapon.

Finally got my hands on this game the other day and frankly i am really disapointed. In the vault i was having fun and it looked like i was going to have a blast with this game but after i escaped its just gone downhill. The guns feel way to weak and ammo is a major hassle too get. Its also really hard too stay a good person because killing people is a lot more convenient than going and paying for weapons and ammo. Hopefully the game picks up but i am not that enthusiastic after continuing

A little patience will help you Jerry. What I did was chose to pump up my small guns skills whenever I levelled up, and choosing any perks related to small guns too. I'm around level 13 now and killing people/mutants/creatures is no problem at all. Sometimes a single head-shot with the hunting rifle is all it takes to kill a raider.

This isn't a game that you can just turn on and blast away. Character development is a huge factor, so shape your character how you want and choose one type of weapon to specialise in (small guns was an obvious one for me, due to the availability of the ammo).

Its an RPG mate. You're at the beginning of the game, your skills are low and your attacks are weak. They'll improve as you level up.

As for ammo, search everything and you'll be right. And use melee weapons against weak enemies like radroaches to conserve it. Can't say i ever had an issue with ammo in 2 playthroughs.

Its a great game

Yep Mancey is spot on, know when and when not to use your ammo. Also, when you get to somewhere around level 10 (I think), you can choose a perk where you find considerably more ammo in boxes.

Just keep playing it, explore everything you find and concentrate on pumping up a few key attributes when you level up. I chose small guns, medicine and lock picking.

Mancey: Did you play as different character types on both playthroughs, or did you find yourself wanting to be a similar style of player each time? I've kind of unintentionally become a sniper type guy with very little close combat. The hunting rifle is my best friend in the wastelands. Not sure what I'll play as next but I definately wanna be more of a badass raider type who kills everything and is friendly to no-one, just to contrast with the good-neutral character I am at the moment.

PS. Game of the year for me. I was as excited as a little girl when I got GTA4 and never thought anything would top it, but Fallout is just so god damned awesome.

Yep mate. Played my first playthrough as a Hero of the Wastes type, taking the good path at every opportunity. I pumped up my science and strength skills at the expense of luck and charisma. I could pick almost any lock, hack any computer, and take and deal out a lot of punishment at close quarters.

Second playthrough i was pure evil. Pumped my charisma and luck right up at the expense of strength. As a result i got through by fooling people into giving me info and supplies, and picking a lot of pockets. My lack of strength meant i had to fight mainly at range, but once i got the better armour it wasnt so much of a problem.

Well i decided not to give up on Fallout 3 just yet so i dedicated quite a few hours of my time today to give it another shot. I think it has improved quite a lot and has some great features but i still can't seem to get stuck into it. My guess is that i am just not that good at it which i thought may happen. It's also not because i dislike RPG's because i was a big fan of Oblivion.
