Multiplat Fallout 3

Mancey, there's no need to act like a tosser.

Here's a link.

I remember HBK posting something similar in this thread or another one about the same question.

OK, I couldn't give two craps either way, but you're link is from a PS3 site.

Mancey's is from an independent site.

To me, in your comparison scooter, the PS3 version looks marginally better.

But there are all sorts of weird lines over the 360 version, so who knows if they mucked with the settings or not.

In the comparions in mancey's link, to me, the 360 lookes sharper for images up close, whereas the PS3 looked better off in the distance, or SEEMED to atleast have slightly more detail.

Either way, I don't think anyone could truly argue either version is superior, they both have their strong points, but at the end of the day, they are so similar the average gamer would not even notice.

It's certainly not enough to spoil the game on one platform or the other as far as I am concerned.

If people are so concerned about minor little differences in textures and resolution, surely they would be buying it on the far superior PC platform?

lol, i didn't post any links.

Mostly due the fact i don't gaf

However, nice use of a totally impartial source there scoot.

That PS3 site didn't take those photos if you read it properly.

I also don't gaf, as the game doesn't interest me and i've never considered buying it.

LOL you may have some validity to claim it better than the 360 version (but from what I have seen - 60hours on 360 version and have only witnessed the PS3 version with others playing it - there ain't much if any difference).

But to claim the PS3 version better than the PC version is just laughable

Depends on the PC I suppose. I'm just of the view that multi-purpose platforms are inferior gaming consoles. Plus it has been well documented on ACA that those that play their games on PC as opposed to XBOX and PS3 are ten times less likely to get laid on a regular basis.

I game on consoles (360 and PS3) as I can't be bothered upgrading PC components everytime a new game comes out, plus I prefer using a controller to mouse / keyboard (which I'm terrible at) and gaming in comfort on couch with 50" screen.

But I think it's quite the universal opinion that PC will always have superior graphics to games that are ported to PS3 / 360

Agreed, I don't even own a computer just bring my work laptop home.

So we all agree, it is much more convenient to play games on consoles, therefore graphics are not a priority. Which leads me to my earlier conclusion that all PC gamers look like Fogul.

At least you guys have the option for the expansions. Bloody PS3 should be on top of this department, being that much better than PC and XBOX 360.

Oh well, I suppose better graphics and controls will have to suffice...

That was all I was taking exception to

I'm surprised the PS3 fanboys aren't jumping all over the latest news...
I got here as fast as I could...

The previous Fallout 3 DLC that was exclusive to the 360 is now COMING TO THE PS3.:thumbsu:

As well as the announcement of 2 new pieces of DLC for all 3 platforms.

I might get off my arse and buy this thing sometime this generation(Might be good to wait for the GOTY edition with all 5 lots of DLC included).:o

Also would give hope to those wanting the L&D DLC pack for GTA IV possibly hitting the PS3 now.

BETHESDA CONFIRMS FALLOUT 3 DLC FOR PS3, TWO MORE DLC RELEASES PLANNED FOR ALL THREE PLATFORMS
Bethesda announced today that the previously exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 will be coming to the PlayStation 3. Bethesda has been working on implementing it for a while and are looking forward to bringing it to PS3 gamers via the PlayStation Network. Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart. Release dates will be forthcoming.

In addition, a new update will be released for PS3 that will allow users to download and play the new DLC. The release date for that update will be announced at a later date.

There are also two new DLCs planned for all three platforms:

Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.

Point Lookout will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 Microsoft Points. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.

Mothership Zeta is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 Microsoft Points. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.

Finally, new Fallout 3 products will be available at retail this year.

Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on June 12th across Europe.

Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes Broken Steel and Point Lookout on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August across Europe.

A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for £39.99 / €59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and £29.99 / €49.99 for PC.

Retail versions of the game add-on packs for PS3 will not be available and the DLC will only be available for download via PlayStation Network or with the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition.

I imagine if it does it will be the best thing ever yes?:D
Nah, I probably still wouldn't end up getting it.

For the record I haven't even bought the Killzone 2 DLC yet.

My bad if I read it wrong, but I prefer the controls on the PC a lot more. Don't know if its because I am not use to the XBOX/PS3 (had a go at my mates one) found the controls alright but much prefer PC controls. I don't care too much about the graphics side but yeah graphics side on PC is a bit nicer I guess.

Anyway anyone done broken steel yet?

Does anyone think the alien DLC sounds like non fallout like....i mean it could be interesting but I wasn't really a fan of Operation Anchorage.

I'd be excited about the PS3 DLC if I were still playing the game but honestly, I'm on my last nerve with it. The game has so many bugs and glitches in it that it's not funny. I can't complete the Head of State quest now. After fast traveling to the Lincoln monument, the people aren't there. The repeated voicework deserves an honorable mention.

Check it out - this one glitched for me too

I think I ended up having to fast travel to the station you're meant to meet them at and they appeared

Yeah you have to wait the station. I waited for hours (in-game time) and I think I then selected the wait option for another few hours before they got there!

I'm ****in' stoked with the download content, although I'm with HBK and will wait for the GOTY edition, as I did with Oblivion.

It's games like this that I wouldn't mind if I broke my leg, giving me a month of having the excuse to just play all day every day. Bloody work.

Ok, I'll try waiting at the station.

Also, what's the quest 'Reily's Rangers' supposed to be like? I hear it's quite a pain in the crapper. I still don't know where Reily is.

I'm in the process of doing it now.

She's in the underworld - a ghoul hideout inside the museum of American history.

As Biggy said, in the underground

Personally, RR's was one of my favourite quests

Bethesda aiming for a September release for the PS3 DLC (Due to testing being needed).

First DLC to be released will be Broken Steel.

News on the GOTY edition that will include ALL DLC is 'coming soon'.

FALLOUT 3 DLC ON PSN
Hello PlayStation fans. I’m Ashley Cheng, a producer at Bethesda Game Studios, here to give everyone an update on when Fallout 3 DLC will be available via PlayStation Network.

We’re excited and eager to bring Fallout 3 DLC to PSN. Unfortunately, the content is going to be releasing later than originally expected. Our DLC expands on the original game tremendously — each DLC offering 4-6 hours of additional content — and is no trivial undertaking. Here’s a brief look at the DLC you’ll be able to play.

  • Operation: Anchorage (pictured above) – Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe - the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
  • The Pitt (pictured below) – Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.
  • Broken Steel (pictured below) – Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game’s level cap to 30.
  • Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
  • Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
What can you expect from our DLC?

  • More Fallout 3 Goodness – More weapons, more creatures, more armor and outfits, more characters to interact with, and more loot. You’ll find all of these within the unique new locations of Broken Steel, Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta.
  • DLC Trophies – Did I mention we’re supporting trophies in each DLC? This was a big priority for us and one of the reasons for the extra time needed. In the end, we think it’s worth the effort to bring trophies to the DLC.
  • Support for existing characters and saves – Once you’ve downloaded and installed the DLC, the content is accessible at anytime (once you leave Vault 101). You can play the DLC whenever you want — with one exception (see Broken Steel below).
After Broken Steel, we’ll be releasing Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt shortly thereafter, probably at the same time – just to get them out to you as soon as we can. After that we’ll have Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta available as soon as we can, so that the wait between DLC is as short as possible. Once we release Broken Steel, we’ll have a better idea when the other DLC will be coming and will let you know specifics.

We hope you enjoy Fallout 3’s DLC. Thank you for your patience. They’ll be here before you know it.
