just picked this game up in the cheap sales

holy shit where did the last few hours of my life go?

bit slow but pretty engrossing - ive stopped and talked to too many people i imagine

just up to Arefu to deliver something
Arefu was one of my favourite areas, just so eerie.

360 versions doesn't have the freezing bugs like the PS3 game.
So far from my 12-15 hours on the PS3's Fallout 3 GOTY Edition (which is said to be the worst for freezes and glitches) I haven't had one freeze. Dunno if it's just my luck, but I've had no issue what so ever.:thumbsu:

Yeah compared to red dead (which only did something weird every few hours as it was), fallout was a pretty issue free experience for me on 360.

Played it twice through and part of a third

I had heaps of glitches with my PS3 GOTY edition, but the game is so damn good I didn't care. Everytime it froze I would get annoyed, but after 20 seconds of venting on the nearest target, hit the reset and hopefully autosave had kicked in not too far back in my story.

Mine froze twice in three hours so I just gave up.

Then there's the glitches where the enemies are spazzing out and flying in mid-air when it's supposed to be a random event or whatever.

Then getting stuck in certain areas.

I don't see how they were allowed to release this on PS3.

The freezes start later in the game when your save files get really big. Usually get pretty bad in DLC areas. Have heard deleting files helps. To be honest, agree with Kerbs, the ps3 GOTY edition should not have been released, it's a very poor product.

Looking forward to starting again on xbox though. Best game ever.

you can not fast travel over encumbered

raider

dead

get ****ed

dont have time for this shit

ha ha. I know the feeling. When I started playing Fallout 3 the first time I was an RPG noob and I had no idea what I was doing so I found it really frustrating. You really need to use the stuff in your inventory. If you're carrying too much and you don't want to drop anything, use buffout or drink some booze. That will give you extra strength so you can fast travel

And the best tip I ever got was to save often. Especially when you're wandering the northen area where there is not much auto saving

And check the fallout wiki for tips and stuff. Before I found that site I was just about ready to give up on the game but now it's easily the best game this gen for me

Don't think Borderlands compares personally.

grro, keep all your crap in a locker in your megaton house.

Definitely the hardest game Ive played.

As an open worlder RPG shooter, I still thnk Borderlands is far superior.

Can be a bit tricky at first if you're at a low level and start wandering into areas full of super mutants, you'll get pwnt very quickly. Once you reach the high teens you're a bit of an unstoppable force, game gets pretty easy.

Borderlands is good, and probably works better as a shooter, but in terms of the RPG elements like leveling, perks, item collection etc, and the story, it's a loooooooong way behind F3 imo. Good game tho

I'm a hoarder, i got so much crap in my Megaton locker. Although motorcycle handbrakes and cylanders are hard to come by for the Shishkebab :o

Lol at those who bought GotY edition.

I had a damn good experience with the good old normal version. Although I'm absolutely bored of it now, it took several houres of my life. Great game loaded with stuff to do.

i was so shattered when i died lol - i just got too greedy in the supermarket - should have done 2 trips

Seriously? What difficulty are you playing it on?

I save a lot, but I can't remember ever actually needing to reload one because I've died. I find it is pretty easy on the whole, the abundance of stimpaks makes it virtually impossible to die IMO.

I think FO3 is a superior game to Borderlands, even though I really enjoyed Borderlands. I personally think FO would really benefit from Borderlands usage of pickups though, just the huge number of items it had. I got addicted to finding new and better weapons in Borderlands, where as I sorta got bored with hunting items in FO3. I generally used the same gun (the gun you get off Harkness) for the whole game and searching for items became pretty pointless I thought.
It needed to be more like Borderlands or Diablo II in that area I reckon, give you the motivation to continually forage for better gear.
Uniques would have helped as well.

I really wish an RPG would put in a compelling mini-game/side-game as well. It's as well been one of my strange RPG fetishes, but I loved the card game in Final Fantasy, it extended the life of the game by a huge margin I reckon (I didn't even mind Blitzball in FFX).
Just something a little bit strategic and addictive, just to add another element to the game. Wishful thinking.

With weapons, I did the alien DLC first and had awesome laser weapons for the majority of the game. Worth a ton as well.
