Multiplat Fallout 3

Got the GOTY edition today.

Could only have a quick go and got to when I'm 16 and have to do the G.O.A.T. which I'm yet to do.

Can't wait to get back and get out of the Vault or whatever happens.

SPOILER ALERT NEXT TIME YOU DOUCHE!!

Bloody hutchie, you've ruined the beginning for me :(.

He didn't give away much, the game is only just starting and pretty linear till you leave the Vault.

That's not a spoiler. Happens literally within the first 10 minutes and is VERY linear and barely even progressing the story except to (I'm guessing) finally get you into the world.

BTW do you know what the G.O.A.T. is? Do you know why you are 16? No, so no spoiler.

It would be like saying that in Uncharted 2 you go on a hunt for treasure, is a spoiler...there is nothing of substance given away.

Ok so since I'm OMGZ RUINEDZ THE WHOLE ENTIRE GAME for someone this next part can be spoilerised.

So I did the G.O.A.T. and got "Clinical Test Subject". NO idea what that means or has in store for me for the game, anyone got answers on if it actually changes the story up at all? Or if the G.O.A.T. has an effect on anything?

And I didn't realise how funny this game would be. The dialogue system and some of the things surrounding the G.O.A.T. were damn funny and unexpected from myself as I've seen a few video reviews and none have mentioned that the game is quite funny and doesn't seem to take itself as seriously as I certainly thought it would.

Bit confused with the skills system too at the moment as it's really my first go at an in-depth RPG. So if anyone has a few helpers there it would be good.

Nope. Don't believe your GOAT outcome ends up affecting what happens in the game at all as you won't be sticking around long enough to actually start a career in the vault.

With the skills, it is really your preference if you want to specialise in certain areas and dedicate your points to those. For instance, some people want to make stealthy characters or characters especially suited to handling guns. On my first playthrough, I just went with an all rounder but ignored some like big guns which I didn't think was worth spending the points on. Lockpick, science and repair skills come in pretty handy as the game progresses, getting your speech skill up will make things a little easier too.

Picked up the GOTY edition yesterday and i am about to begin my play through again. I have to wait a little bit to do the expansions so i can stock up on weapons.

You don't have to use the GOAT results, and you can change all your skills before leaving the vault too, so don't stress about what its dealt you.

As the guys have said, up the science and lockpick so you can get into more areas quicker, and get better stuff. Don't worry about big guns too much at the start, spec them up later because you won't really come across to many early on.

If you up your strength you can carry more stuff too which is handy.

I started my first expansion today accidentally. I was searching for the Alien Blaster and just happened to get beamed up. I'm really not enjoying it up there on Mothership Zeta. Probably because there does not feel like there is much freedom and the quests are just boring. The guns there are pretty cool though. I am looking forward to going to Point lookout as that does look by far the most interesting.

When I first played the game I played it primarily as a character that is good with guns but can access a lot of loot. So in the end I put points in Lockpick, Small guns and Repair and what I had left I put in Medicine.

With lockpick I got more access to supplies, with small guns I became proficient in most guns and Repair meant that the equipment I have is often in good condition. Seeing that I relied on fighting head to head rather then sneaking I put points into health when I can, so that I would recover more health when using stim packs. But that is the way I played the game and it is fun creating a character to suit how you play.

My only criticism about the game is that there should have been more energy weapons and big guns lying around so it would make it hard to make a decision to invest points in those areas.

I found the Game Faq site very handy.

I'd forgotten how much I loved this game, until I listened to some of the soundtrack again last night.

Probably the best single player game I've ever played - and extremely close to being the perfect game.

I'll grab the DLC (and I'm excited by them), but probably not until the start of next winter, because otherwise, this game will steal all of my time.

I wanna get the goty edition, but MW2 is going to occupy about 20 hours of my day for the next couple of months. Maybe after that I'll pick it up

Spoiler Question: If I didn't get the basement key before Roy goes on a rampage at tenpenny tower and kills all the smooth skins, is there any other way I can get into the basement to plunder the dead bodies?

Also, can I kill Mr. Burke now, or does he play a further role in the game?

re: your first question; I would assume there isn't, but I'm not certain.

I am certain, however, that re: your second question, he has no involvement in any quest other than (highlight) the Megaton bomb.

Cheers Mr. Cellotape. I'll have to wait until I start the game again to make sure I have the basement key before I help the ghouls.

Bit of a let down, seeing as I'm a horder! Sometimes I spend an hour picking up tin cans in the subway, its a shame to see that loot go to waste.

Time for Mr. Burke to Die!!!

GOTY on PS3 is absolute rubbish, constant freezing like I've never seen before. If it wasn't such a good game I'd have thrown it in the bin a while ago.

Yeah i agree. I have the PS3 version and it will constantly freeze. Point Lookout for me is freezing central. Now that i have finished there i made sure i got everything so that there was no need to go back. Great game nonetheless.

Yeah, Marguerite sidequest won't work for me, whenever I go near the house the system goes to shit.

Love this game!!!

Only a Bad Karma playthrough left and a platinum trophy awaits!

Bring on Fallout 4.

I can't believe I wasted my money on this game.

It's so glitchy and just not fun to play.

It was alright the first time I played it but this time it blows dick.
