Most of my settlement wiring violates just about every rule in the AS3000. IMO though it would have been better if the existing houses and prefabs had a POA that you could just connect to and any light bulb or telly inside the boundary would automatically be powered. Only because there have been times I have been laying cable (teehee) only to find something is out of reach or something else happens and then I run out of copper to attach new wires because I had to start again.

Seems the best way to get rich bitch without cheating is farming mutfruit.

Grow shitloads of mutfruit. Harvest, then sell in diamond city or the like. Bulk caps/trade for nice goodies (given most traders only have a limited supply of caps)

Apparently scrapped items don't weigh anything? Gonna try that tonight as some of my outer settlements have bugger all materials to scrap, and i don't have high enough CHR for supply lines

Can someone explain radiation to me, as a newcomer to Fallout 4 it's a little difficult to grasp. What things do I avoid so I don't gain rads? Is rad-away the only way to get rid of it?
Certain areas and creatures are radioactive.

You'll see the radiation warning in your bottom right screen the higher it is the worse it is.

Either get back to safety quickly or take Rad X or wear radiation protection to minimise safety.

Seeing a doctor you can get all radiation removed for 40 caps or use Radaway to remove some radiation. I think cooked mirelurk meat also removes radiation.

radiation lowers your maximum health (the red in the bar represents how much radiation you have). to avoid radiation, don't get hit by creatures that use radiation damage, or enemies that shoot radiation damage. you can find/craft equipment that gives better radiation protection. you can also remove radiation by visiting a doctor and eating certain foods.

radiation really isn't that big a deal, sadly.

Doctor can cure radiation, but can be costly depending how much you have.

Try to wear rad repellent clothing to reduce intake. Rad-X will also limit intake

Apart from the gory shit, is bloody mess perk much of an advantage?

Increases overall damage output, including on top of critical hits. Purely in terms of min/maxing I saw it as a no brainer so I grabbed it after I got the more important combat perks. More damage is never a bad thing.

Oh and for anyone that hasn't already discovered it. Kill every Radstag you see and get their meat

When cooked it gives 120HP and +25 carry weight for an hour! Like buffout without the addiction. So handy when on scavenging runs

Rads lower your hitpoints until you remove it. It accumulates when you go near radioactive stuff (barrels, water, some enemies)...you'll hear a tick tick and rads show up in your HUD. Most uncooked food, and the old food packs you find laying around will also give you rads when you eat it. And drinking dirty water

There are tons of ways to remove it. Radaway as you say, pay a doc, or the cheapest way...cooked mutant hound meat. A cooked mutant hound meat takes off 50 rads, and you just need to harvest and cook the meat, no other ingredients.

Cook everything...removes the rads

Higher damage, at level three it can chain to enemies near by.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit, sounds pretty ****.

I'm currently just exploring at the moment, found some random quests along the way.
Some of you mentioned a pretty awesome quest that I'm trying to find as well.
Can't remember the name of it but some of you spoke about it quite highly.

Radiation is energy that comes from a source and travels through some material or through space. Light, heat and sound are types of radiation. The kind of radiation in Fallout is called ionizing radiation because it can produce charged particles (ions) in matter. It's a byproduct of nuclear war

God dammit. Theres scary parts?

Hopefully it doesn't get much worse than the occasional feral ghoul jump scare which have got me two or three times. I can deal with eerie, as long as something isn't trying to kill me.

This is why I'm putting off going to the asylum just yet. Some settlers told me to go there and I was just like "yeah, nah." It just sounds shit.

Can you move Wood and Metal to other settlements without supply lines?
i think you can grab it out of one workshop, put it in your inventory and fast travel.

Apparently materials weigh nothing? I haven't tested that but I read that today.

Its for that reason i don't think i'll bother wasting perk points on getting supply lines. I only have 3 Charisma

Can someone with the game test that please...i'm at work

Supplies definitely have carry weight if you take them out of your workshop.
I know the raw materials do. But what about once they are scrapped?

I ask because of this

http://fallout4.wiki/crafting

Pay Attention: Scrapped materials don’t occupy space in your inventory! Amount of the resources you have don’t affect your movement speed. You can have 500 Adhesive or wood and still move fast :)

If that is true...awesome. But maybe the guy has worded it poorly, and means weight doesn't affect you in workbench mode

Persuasion attempt failed.
lulz touche

Wtf is with building houses? Trying to build on the foundations at sanctuary, but the sides don't like up, and I end up having floating walls. Is it better to avoid foundations? Basically makes sanctuary useless for building houses then.
