Just need to systematically check all the settlements out. If its a human, build a bell, ring it, and everyone in the settlement comes running.

So I've done a couple of early side quests. Where should I start with building my settlement at sanctuary? Level 6 or 7, just been wandering around trying tu den remember all the basics of fallout.

Should I head to diamond city now ?

I'm level 11 and haven't gone to diamond city yet. Doing prestons quests, setting up outer settlements

Sturges gives you setting up sanctuary quests

The purified water gets put into the workshop inventory. Check it out.

so im now doing quests with the guys at the police station. Should i setup my base/settlement back at the first red rocket where there is a workshop? Havent come across any other potential workshop towns since then, just a few places to mod weapons and armour. The easy XP for building structures etc sounds fun.

BTW, just because youve cleared a town before doesnt mean its definitely safe to go back. I levelled up and increased my locksmith skills, went back to the museum and found myself surrounded by raiders as soon as i spawned lol

A legendary ghoul dropped a pistol for me that does +15 explosive damage today. Easily my weapon of choice now.

True. I know the game apparently gets better. I went to the village, met the people, got the big suit, went back to the safe house, ditched the suit, met some guy wanting me to turn off some pipes underwater, water is radioactive, die, turned off ps4.

That's where I'm at. My put in some hours into over the summer holidays, seems like a game you can't play for 20 mins at a time.
