After the thread a little while ago about what is your favourite of the AFL logo's i thought this might be interesting.

What are some of your favourite logo's non-AFL.

For me by far the greatest logo is Anaheim's 1993-2006 main.

Also I believe Old Dominion University's current logo is a perfect example of a lion logo.

Re: Favourite Logo's (Non-AFL)

Here's a few just from the NBA alone - I know I could have found more but this is just a selection:

Utah Jazz - new secondary logo but should be their primary IMO

Toronto Raptors - alternate since 1996, but really the Jurassic Park phase ended ages ago and they should go with something less childish like this for their primary

Phoenix Suns - yet another alternate that should have become the primary a good few years back

Vancouver Grizzlies - an example of a good menacing logo which Memphis took with them for a couple of years until they changed to a more tame "teddy bear", which looks a lot more (Rudy) Gay :p

EDIT: Got all of these from SportsLogos.net - a great site and one which I use a lot.

Re: Favourite Logo's (Non-AFL)

While we're on the BBall theme, I think New Orleans' secondary logos are worthy of being primary in any sport; love the symbolism.

The other American logo set that comes to mind is the Chicago Blackhawks. Whilst a bit controversial, they create a very powerful identity - for a team using so many colours - that just works for me.

And although I'm a Yankee fan, and I still believe the Yankee "NY" is the quintissential monogram, I have great respect for the way the Mets have gone about their logos, very classy.

There are so many more logos that just stick with me, head and shoulders above others in the sporting world, I'll be sure to post some more pearlers soon.
