That’s absolutely fair. The club is actively, and in clear view of the football world, disrespecting its supporters, taking them for granted and for fools.
I absolutely hate this club and if I wasn’t the age I am with the history of supporting them, I would be changing teams. What’s in it for young supporters to bother with this shambles?
I seriously doubt that that is the intention, but there obviously has to be some changes made to the admin and football department.

Cats taking the piss with us, getting Cameron to 11 goals. Like the Dangerfield one, could have easily slotted that himself.

Our club is now seen as a meme.

I seriously doubt that that is the intention, but there obviously has to be some changes made to the admin and football department.

The optics of smiles, butt-pats, shoulder rubs and infantile press conference excuses after horrific and appalling showings on the field.

Maybe not purposely, but gee wiz, they’re not reading the room very well.

Since the win over Carlton, we have played soft uninspired unaccountable rubbish.
It seems like after one good win the players have mentally checked out for the season.
There just doesn't seem to be any defensive structure or more importantly an effort going into the defensive structures.
There is a distinct lack of on field leadership.

Where too from here?

We need to bring in some more experienced players, another round with a focus on defensive skills and experience.
There's 3 or 4 out of the back six than need to be replaced and delisted.

Strong suggest we need to bring in new coaching talent, I'd like to see the three assistant coaches replaced. At a minimum the defensive coach need to go. Clako has another 2 seasons to turn this around, but unless there is some serious change in the club, we are going to be in the same place in two years time.

This can't continue, 10 wins, one draw out of 62 games in the last three seasons is just pathetic. Do we ask for more draft relief? New Coaches? more experienced talent? what?

You’re the first to suggest adcock needs to go.

The consensus is Adams, Clarke, Development (exception to Barlow) and wellness coach..

The back 6 are a budget base defence unit with our prized defender Logue being a complete useless campaigner who is hungry for anything but the ball and contests.

Midfield, D50 exit, defensive transition and skills are the things that stand out. First and foremost, Adams needs to go.

I think it’s fair to suspect that the AFL - being the contrived, corrupted, purely money-driven entity it now is - would see us on the first train out of here if it could.
I suppose it’s always been on us to stick it to them and prove them wrong, in 2007 and perhaps even more so now. But it truly is regrettable how the current custodians of this once-awesome club are pissing on the foundations put in place by Brayshaw, Arocca and Laidley.

When you look at us through a business lens and as a product at the moment, I think we all know that we’re an embarrassment and we don’t wonder why we don’t get marquee games etc. We are literally throwing away entire years and treating the highest league of Australian rules in the country as a practice league for ourselves to fail miserably and make excuses for ourselves. If the league disrespects us, we’re disrespecting it right back tenfold at the moment.

Even Demetriou conceded that we made a fist of staying in Melbourne after committing to it. I was proud of nmfc during that time.

If our performances were like this in 06/07 though, we would no longer exist.

Who is going to take this club by the scruff of the neck to make it survive and prosper?

I’ve heard that. Only from you, repeatedly, but still.
Surely you'd be naive to think otherwise by this point, no?

We offer nothing. The AFL is not known for its overwhelming sentimentality, and I highly doubt it's gonna be taking into consideration the feelings of the 20-odd k North fans who actively partake in club goings-on when devising its 'alternative solutions' to the North problem

Crows are a very very good team, in fact one of the teams that can go all the way. The fact that they smashed the power into hell is the only good thing to happen tonight. Just like the blues & the bombers, if Zak Butters leaves port they are a bottom five team next year.
End of 2020 season: we finish 17th, Crows 18th. It’s difficult to believe how different our respective rebuilds have been since then. Dawson, Thilthorpe, Rankin etc vs Phillips, Duursma, Daniel etc. We continue to tread water and make no progress while they are a definite contender this year. Just a failure of every aspect of the football dept / from the recruiting and list management team (seriously, who was responsible for giving Zac Fisher that contract?) all the way through to the coaches.

Indeed.

North were not expected to win this week and most had them losing by 60+ points
Sure it was worse than expected but it is what it is and next week is another game and its a game that North should expect to win and give it their all - And they could win it as StKilda are not great either so things could be very different around these parts next week.

Chin up Roo boys as its never as bad as it seems and you could get another 2 wins to finish off the season and get confidence to step up in 2026

It’s never as bad as it seems? Hmmm. Checks Ladder over the last 6 years. I think it is bad. It’s very bad. :stern look

It’s not about sentimentality but I doubt it’s a plan. Times have changed and the AFL has said that it wouldn’t revisit that old rationalisation method again. Places that might get a team now are footy regions that want their own club. And the AFL has seen Western, Melbourne and most impressively Hawthorn rise from near-death to become valuable assets again, so that would be the most likely wish for North too. I’ll help fight it again if I have to but it’s not on my list of worries.

Taps the sign. Crows played in the Grand Final in 2017 - since 2020 they’ve added some great go home players to a core that was already very good. Recovering from a stumble when underperforming is nothing like building from the bottom.

Players are most productive between the ages of 24 to 28. Adelaide did have a big drop after their Grand Final appearance and quickly bottomed out. Yet the Crow retained a core of senior experienced players, a number of which are still playing today. At North we had a shocking draft run in the mid to late 2010s. Where we recruited few players of value. There should be a whole group of players aged 26 to 30 who shoulder the load of our team but just aren't there.

The 2014 Draft Sam Drudin, Ed Vickers Willis, Danial Nielson.
The 2015 Draft Ben McKay, Ryan Clarke, Mitchell Hibberd, Declan Mountford.
The 2016 Draft Jy Simpkin, Declan Watson, Josh Williams, Nick Larkey
The 2017 Draft LDU, Will Walker, Kyron Hayden, Tristan Xerri, Billy Hartung.
The 2018 Draft Tarryn Thomas, Curtis Taylor, Bailey Scot, Joel Crocker
The 2019 Draft Charlie Comben, Jack Mahony, Flynn Perez.

Six years of drafting and we have 6 players on the list out of 23 drafted players.
This should be the very core of the playing group, but it looks more like a list of survivors.
We were terrible right though the Scott era at developing players, we didn't trade anyone out or anyone of note in.

We just can't afford poor drafting years, I think we should be paying absolute top dollar to get the best recruiting staff available, as it can make or break a club.

I still can't look past Dangerflop chowing down on a Souv on the bench. If ever there was a sign as to how little respect teams have for us then this is it. Should be made into a banner and be in the rooms before every game. Sadly our club is just irrelevant.

We won’t be pushed out. Need games for kayo and teams for rule and tribunal tweaks. Test the water with north, be it free kick interpretation, suspension, priority picks, and so on.
I take it that's how much can we give free kicks against another team before they complain?

The sad thing is that it was quite obvious that not a single player turned up thinking we could win on Saturday night and that's exactly how we played.

There's no fight in these guys. North Melbourne teams of the past that were coming up against a team that had previously embarrassed them would more often than not come out breathing fire. They at least had pride in themselves and the club. These guys are weak as water both physically and mentally. As Kingy asked like many times previously, what do we stand for?

But we have a wellness coach?

For gods sake, Fisher looked out of his depth in the VFL on Sunday. Contracted til 2027 too lol. Whoever gave him (and Logue til 2027 - I could go on re others but you get the drift) that contract should be marched out the door immediately. I seriously just want someone at the club to show us a bit of emotion, a bit of anger, just give us SOMETHING that shows us they’re not all dead inside. And get up in front of everyone and use your words, no bloody letters thanks
