Re: NFL Playoff Betting Odds

You forgot 5th rule of gambling MB: you can guarantee that for every successful bet people mention there are at least 5 unsuccessful bets they never mention.

Thats some pretty tasty work there for the Cardinals.

Re: Early odds:

The Saints are back in the NFC West? I'll take that. :D

I was about to launch into one of my "I can't believe people are still over-rating the Panthers" rants . . . and then I saw their odds.

Finally, my work is done. :)

Love those Falcons odds too. Last 5 years, every NFC South champ has been bottom the year before. It's the last-to-first division and the Falcons are still 25/1.

Gotta love those Dirty Birds. :D

Re: Early odds:

Redskins, Saints, and Jaguars to win the SB at 30/1, 20/1, and 10/1 are great odds for teams with a real shot at winning it.

I said Jacksonville -v- Redskins Superbowl for last year, but it may happen this year.

Re: Early odds:

The Raiders at 12/1 to win the AFC West looks tempting. On the other hand, Chicago ranked as the 10th favourite for the Super Bowl at 18/1! You've got to be kidding me, they'll come last in their division...

nah, Lock the Lame Lions in for Stone Cold motherless last.. high hopes for pick #1 (and that Wells kid from Ohio ;))

I'm staggered how SF are 12/1 ?? Martz is takin' over there and the SF D is no dog shampoo set up either. I'm busting to see Seattle trip over. ;).. time to shake a tail-feather in the dusty division out West.

Yup, my first THICK BLACK TEXTA returns and I'm blacklisting the

Detroit Lions :thumbsd: 3-13 season at best

Re: Early odds:

Is the TEXTA out already?? Lions an easy one hey? Try some tougher ones.

In the toughest division...

2. Tennessee Titans

Bare in mind that ONE of the teams I scrubbed last season HOSTED the Conf Champship.. so it's a good omen really. Coach Fisher will be reeled out of there.. me thinks.

Re: Early odds:

Tennessee TEXTA'd hey? Interesting. That's a pretty daring call in a tough and always getting closer AFC South.

How about NFC East? AFC North? NFC South?

The NFC East is a real toughy. I read that 3 of the last place teams come thru the following campaigns and either make the play-offs or have a winning record so I'll need time to mull over the NFC East.

The AFC North: Cincinnati
The NFC South: Atlanta (no brainer??? of course > JD nods head)
The AFC East: Miami (another no brainer I guess??)
The AFC West: Kansas City (Still can't get over Herm's YPTW comments)

Re: Early odds:

NFC EAST ...

i say the Eagles, and a ticket for reid out

Are you questioning the Eagles D? Or don't think they can put a winning score on the board often enough??

It's a real lottery that division. The G-men could well have Supabah hangover
as it's a common pattern. ;) The NFC West is tricky. Very tricky.

Last season I put the KOD on Seattle but they wiggled themselves a home play-off. Am not convinced they can improve anymore than 11 wins and even though their D remains solid, losing DJ Hackett will sting them and perhaps unsettle their poise. Something has to give with Whisenhunt's Cards who are flying under the radar and the Niners have the man with the explosive plays..

Last season I predicted the Rams to hit the mark but they ran into trouble instead losing key players to long term injuries. It's more about how many shoot-outs can the Rams cope with before they fall in a heap? Last season they started 0-8 with Jackson & Bulger each missing 4 in the first 8 along with 2 OL men. Brutal for any team to lose club stars early.

I'm not convinced their D can carry them in tight games where defending a last minute lead so I'd say the Rams are going to stay rooted to 4th spot.

Woodson... The only recent SB winner to have a hangover was your Steelers... And then the Seahawks were nothing great in the same year. There is no common poor play pattern for SB winners... Most are still up there... The losers have hangovers (Bears, Philly, Carolina, Giants, Seattle, Oakland)

Sorry just wanted you to get your facts right ;)

Since their SB, Seattle has had 2 wins against teams with .500 or more %. Out of all those wins, only TWO were against half decent teams... Bloody lucky the buggers only have to put up with the 9ers, Rams and Cards... NOT THIS YEAR

well, I stand corrected then.:o So The G-men are a LOCK for play-offs?? :p The more you push this, the more I'll use the BIG BLACK TEXTA on your G-men to 'hopefully' prove my point. ;)

I'll come up with my NFC East cellar dweller prediction before the weekend.
Hope it's your G-men coz I predicted the Pack last season and we know who hosted the C'chmpship.

Most had the texta through our names last year (re: 07 Predictions Thread "Where do you see the Giants improvement coming from? Tiki holding them back? :o" :D :thumbsu:)

Just corrected the GRIEVOUS error :p

Do you really think the Eagles can be written off at this point?

Come on, we've got a damn awesome D at the moment, and our offense will improve big time by getting some key starters back on the field and fit, along with the addition of Desean Jackson and Lorenzo Booker. We're gonna cause some headaches this season, and not just for me this time.

I didn't write em off... Personally I reckon you are 3rd in the East and will make the playoffs (3 from the East again)
Westbrrok healthy, McNabb, who is still a good QB no matter what people think. Good D (As I pointed to by drafting them ;)) which only got stronger with Samuels.

And you aare just talking shit for the sake of talking shit gg :p Atlanta?
