Good point.I dont think they will be ropeable about anything for quite some period of time
We talk about Frampton how opposition fans talk about Kolo
They didn’t celebrate a flag like we did though
Too many McDonald's in Geelong districts these days?No Falcons in R1 this year or next is unusual.

Doesn't affect his 23 season thoughMight want to check how much jack ginnivan is celebrating a month from now i reckon.
I hope the players watched this and kick themselves because this year might have been one of the best chances we would have had for back to back, and the Pies will be thinking that next year. Dees were meant to be a dynasty and tapered off, the other big teams like Port and Brisbane have horrendous MCG records. As suggested above, but it is a big IF at present.
I hope Danger's finals media commitments have made him even hungrier for another tilt.
Collingwood had the 4th oldest list this year. Not exactly young
Doesn't affect his 23 season though
Dubs, you're barely on board when we're winning flags...so I can't say I'm surprised with your thoughts.Holmes and Caleb Windsor, great wingers for the now and the next 8-10 years.
Small point, but Pies are NOT the challengers.
I do wonder if they can keep up the intensity a third year .
The evergreen Pendles and Sidebottom were crucial for them yesterday, and are going around again.
The heat did not deter their output, and their fitness as a team is way superior to all other teams.
This is an area we can not compete in, and will keep us from being legitimate contenders, UNLESS we can rectify this with our lengthy off season.
Our captain is said to do the BARE MINIMUM at training, and that is not leading by example.
It's amazing Nathan Kreuger still on there list... he be delisted when his contract is up ( footy wire saying next year)
It's not the length of the pre-season, it's the partying that sets you back.Collingwood finished 7 days before us last year. Doubt there was a massive difference in pre season length.
Very on board.Dubs, you're barely on board when we're winning flags...so I can't say I'm surprised with your thoughts.
However, it feels like you've just reiterated what I've said? Collingwood are the premiers, they've earned favouritism until we see a decent amount of footy in '24.
To be fair to Frampton hes always looked miles more competent in defence, he was very good back there earlier in the year, why teams keep trying to turn him into a forward baffles meKolo has his limitations but hes still a regular in a top 4 side.
Not a fringe player who barely has 50 games in 8 years and then has 2 possessions in a GF.
If we can bring in one or two decent midfielders I am significantly more confident of a flag next year than I was when we were on a 10 game winning run last year.Nobody's saying we'll just climb straight back to the top next year because we're Geelong and that's what we do.
I don't believe anyone here is exhibiting that type of hubris, there's tangible reasons.
A proper grueling summer, resulting in a fit side able to run out games, and have bodies prepared for the rigours of week-to-week elite football.
Our major issue being our midfield, with some urgent reinforcement in the form of Guthrie & Clark, with Bailey Smith now a distinct possibility. The likes of Dow, Wines & Thomas feel less likely, but are still possible inclusions.
If not, a Ryley Sanders type is a mature enough body to still contribute day 1 at an AFL club, and with grunt and toughness at the contest, he's exactly what the doctor ordered.
The likes of Henry, Bruhn, Holmes, Neale, Dempsey & SDK will only improve, with Close & Stengle hoping to bounce back from disappointing years (May have partied a bit too much post flag)
A full season from Jack Henry will help, as will another proper pre-season for Jez & Hawk, who were both clearly hampered for large portions of the year.
Bowes will flourish with another year in our system, and hopefully some injury luck. Even the great Gary Junior said himself it took him a year to get his head around how we play.
The ruck while not a strength, will be more than fine if Stanley can stay healthy or the addition of a Flynn type. Some quick development from Conway could do wonders, too.
I'm in no way saying the flags in the bag in 2024...but we're not kidding ourselves here thinking it's possible.
Credit to Brisbane & Collingwood...but the cream of the crop are not that good.
You've cleaned up your act...but surely now you can understand how tedious it is for the rest of us now.Geez your attempts at humour have ran thin… rinse & repeat & not funny! Moving on…..
We'll bring in someone, just depends on who. Too much smoke around too many names. If we can bring in one or two decent midfielders I am significantly more confident of a flag next year than I was when we were on a 10 game winning run last year.
But will we, is the question.
That is trueDoesn't affect his 23 season though
That is true
But our 22 celebrations definitely impacted our 23 season.
And I am ok with that
Wines + 37 for Esava + F1 would keep both clubs happy I think. If we're picking up Wines, we plan on that F1 finishing in the 15-18 range.Probably shows what a fantatsic era we had...in 07 thru 11 to not have those hang over years. We have had a near decade of getting pipped just short of the ultimate... , add the covid years .. so I agree ..Im fine with gusy having a bit of a let down.
Getting some fresher younger guys into our best side that have not had success, let them start to become the leaders of the new era transition a few of the older players out will see us bounce. Its just a matter when and to what degree.
I hate to see us trade anything of significance for Wines.

The club won't stand still, the players and club would be filthy that it looks like we let an opportunity slip through enjoying ourselves too much.
Barrett's and ITK's have been consistent that we'll be after Smith, or someone similar to bolster the midfield weakness. Just whether we can get it done.
If the club rates him high enough, it could be a big play for Sanders, too.
Said it before, but they don't let us down often. The goal to compete every year is still there, and we're going to need a mid (or two) to do it.
Wines is a 29yo next week, just FYI. And if it's a salary dump, that could even be generous from us, but close to ball park.Wines + 37 for Esava + F1 would keep both clubs happy I think. If we're picking up Wines, we plan on that F1 finishing in the 15-18 range.

Agreed. Wines was either injured or cooked or maybe both.No thanks.
