That's all I'm hearing as well. Also that Joel may have played a role here and has worked a bit in years gone by with the player.interesting about Oliver. These types of reports are usually fatal for player - club relationship. My money would be on him heading out the door. Cats might enquire, but the price would be astronomical, both contract and trade demand. Which is unrealistic considering the contract size. You would blow up list mgmt for a key fwd of his caliber, but not a midfielder, especially one who is 27 next year and contracted till his mid 30s for premium dollar.
My read is we are upto necks in Bailey Smith and Smith alone.

All he may want is love and connection.
Clarko would LOVE him at NM.
He may want Mitchell/Hawks.
Who knows how a player thinks.
NO WAY can any of us put ourselves in his position.
DWAYNE has certainly opened up the Oliver discussion just now after an hour with him on GF day.
The same kid who could not run out 1/4 of AFL football and got towelled up in his only appearance? Thats gotta be one hell of an off season if we are pinning our hopes on him....
How are we going to get all of Smith, Wines and Harmes done? That's all I'm hearing as well. Also that Joel may have played a role here and has worked a bit in years gone by with the player.
Nothing from Connors or Bailey Smith in recent times after the original dead bat responses. The club playing it's cards very close to its chest. Mackie has plenty of rat cunning and he's learned the art of list management and player trades from the very best. He had a healthy ego when he played and I suspect he'll want to stamp himself again this year after a solid haul in last years trade period with Bowes / pick 7 / Ollie Henry / and Bruhn.
Well think we can say goodbye to any chance of Bailey Smith, if Hawks are putting Pick 3 on the table for him. If as reported Bailey is interested in both clubs, Dogs will basically say 'you wanna go, then you're going to the Hawks instead of the Cats - as their offer is much better.'
Only way we'd be a chance is if Bailey specifically wants us instead of Hawthorn - which I honestly really don't know if that would be the case.
Pretty sure he was a mad Hawks supporter growing up so doesnt bode well for us.Well think we can say goodbye to any chance of Bailey Smith, if Hawks are putting Pick 3 on the table for him. Never underestimate Hawthorn's ability to get snubbed by players they've supposedly got 'locked in'. They've become the champs at it the past few years, much to their supporter's chagrin.Bloody Hawthorn making it about themselves again.

Hawthorn not giving up in chase for Bulldogs star: AFL trade news

Best is to feel we have no hope and see how it pans out.Well think we can say goodbye to any chance of Bailey Smith, if Hawks are putting Pick 3 on the table for him. Apparently they've using pick 3 to try and get pick #1

If they have a chance of getting pick one and Harley Reid by attaching pick 3, then I think that would have to be hawks preference over handing Bulldogs pick 3 for Smith?See above from Cats09 - if they want Pick 1 they're not getting Smith.
I would also say if that were the case, then they're not exactly committed to getting him either.
Honestly, who knows, haha. Will be good when this 2 and a half weeks is up and we know where everything stands.
Does everyone realise that it's Sam McClure floating that story about pick 3?Someone's telling porkies then. Can't both be true, haha
Where is Hawthorn's picks?I could imagine the type of phone calls we would be taking if we hold P7 and on draft night ... its P7's turn and Sanders and Caddy are still available . If Melb does dump Oliver then they probably go Sanders ....
but it seems like in draft we will be sitting pretty for some offers .... and of course we will might bid on Croft.
