You can give both a chance. There is list spots with rookie and main draft, they are late picks. It's no issues. 18yos with Pick +60 in ND or Rookie Draft, I wouldn't expect much tbh anyway.

I see O'Brien as the third tall type, and might offer a bit. Whereas BVDH, he is more Key Position - FB or CHB. I still think if we got Schoenmaker with a Pick in the low 20s (out of the Esava trade or with pick downgrades from 7, or a combo of such), then you'd have a way way better player, and someone that would go excellent in tandem with SDK. As Schoenmaker could take all our spot kicking.

Blitz is a better Ruck than anyone available, doesnt make any sense to carry a bloke on the list for the sake of it.

My memory is hazy but about 12 months ago, I think the Cats won a flag with Stanley and Blicavs sharing ruck duties?

Add Conway with another pre season and I think we’ll be ok. Also got Furphy Crisp who we rookied recently. Neale as a chop out and maybe another state leauger as back up

It probably make sense to add someone like OBrien ... but considering that Next year is such a mid draft, the resale price of CHB's and rucks and our late picks will be when most have closed their folders and passed ... id be happy to add another slow burn type like Pike or Goad and Dawson or Zakostelsky if he is still there.

The trouble is these guys are time soaks... and considering the way our backs were this year we probably need 2024 coverage if we lose Sav

Zakostelsky looks more like a Blitz, a slightly under-sized ruck, but can play around the ground. I'd be interested to know if he has a massive engine after the testing. It depends if we see Knevitt as the Blitz replacement, which I'm not sure he is as I don't think he can pinch-hit ruck, maybe once or twice, but definitely not 5-10mins per quarter.

As I understand Oliver it had some involvement with the Blues in bygone years.

If I was spitballing, the Dees badly need a forward. McKay would more than fill the bill. Both Oliver and McKay have long-term contracts. Some negotiating regarding those contracts and the Blues adding something might play out.

The Blues then have to sort out a goofball.

By the way, the Blues are very active. According to Shifter Sheehan, already signed two Irish players.

Josh Jenkins heaped praise on Conway. Not only his playing talent but his maturity and willingness to learn. Saw him as a possible skipper in years to come.

Yep crazy length deal.
I think english is 50/50 depending on whether his partner stays with the fever or moves back to vic.

If we’re not all in for Oliver than something is wrong with us.

EXACT player that’d lift us more than anything. It’s our biggest hole. It’s be danger or Cameron level impact.

Our mids are bottom 4 at the minute with maybe holmes and potentially Clark the only decent talent but nothing In Our list looks like becoming a top 10 AFL mid.

We need to go hard.

Very interested to know the money per year. I've found Naughton to be a myth but surprised he is still only 23.

If he's realised he isn't a star and taken an 8yr deal on low cash, fair enough all round but if the dogs are still thinking he's gonna be a superstar and gone big on locking him in....waste of money.
