Review Good/Bad vs Richmond - Rd 13, 2019

Won in the midfield, forward and defence coaches got this horribly wrong. Should have been a 10+ goal win.

This midfield though, backed up by CEY and GWood, is the best it’s been for a very long time.

Need to polish up on the outside and the forward line still very wasteful.

Shame about JJ, was starting to find some touch. Will create an opportunity for Berg or Fog, or even Sauce?

The Good:

B Crouch – Elite midfielder. This is the sort of talent you get with a top 5 pick.

Jenkins, Tex - Imposing

O’Brien – Gun. We are blessed to have 5 or so years of Big Sauce and then this kid as his replacement.

Betts - This has gone past skill now. Betts is paranormal.

The class shown by Richmond players.

Hartigan – gutsy, tough player.

CEY - absolute beast

2 - 0 so far in a tough month

Sloane - captains goal.

The Bad:

Laird – Mr “hot potato”. Get ball give off as soon as possible, it’s irrelevant if the receiver is under pressure. Fast becoming the meaningless possession king.

Douglas – dumb, dumb footballer. Momentum killer. Card should have been stamped after the GF.

Atkins/Douglas – When Pyke watches the replays does he actually take notice of errors by individuals or is it all about a break down in the game plan. Some of the mistakes these two make or their lack of intensity is unforgivable.

Milera – Down on confidence. Slipping back into pre-2018 mode
Only on the Adelaide bo

LOL. I came here to see what everyone would say about Rat. Even after a pretty good game the Atkins whipping boy status never changes.

Channel 7 saying the Crows are confident the ACL is intact

Phew.

Not everyone here is a Jenkins fan but never want to see a player do the ACL, especially after he returned to the side and was contributing well

I’ve been out so didn’t get to watch the game yet. Could someone give me a rundown of the injury concerns from the game. Thanks in advance

Good:
Ran away with the win despite injuries
ROB - Huge again. Had a very inexperienced opponent but still dominated
Crouches - Immense in the middle, deserve the break
Tex- Presented as well as he's done in a while. Only downside was that he could've kicked 6
JJ - Has been great since HT vs Melbourne. Downside on the other hand...

Bad:
Milera - Oh boy, that was an old-fashioned Barry Crocker
Hopefully JJ hasn't done an ACL
First quarter was pitiful - unaccountable, complacent, lazy s**t.

He’s playing as KPF and when he does that he’s very valuable. His dropping and time out, has helped turn him.

At his age you don’t want a knee.

The amount of bed wetting by folk in here in the first quarter or any time Richmond came at us - was embarrassing. There are TWO teams playing - we aren’t ever going to get it all our way, ever! Ebbs and flows. We panicked early, then settled. They got a run on, we steadied. And then, when you would think we’d drop our bundles in the last given our three injuries and that we’d come off a 5 day break, and Tigers got to within 4 points, but we bunkered in and surged forward winning by 33! Some massive individual performances, and a few poor ones. Grateful for the break. If someone had said we’d win three out of the next three, four weeks ago...we’d have snapped that up in a heartbeat. Hope JJ is ok. Fingers crossed.

Jenkins - knee hyperextension in the final minute. Crows say the ACL is intact
Talia - quad injury in the 3rd
Murphy - Tex concussed him and knocked out his front teeth in accidental contact in the first

Good:
ROB and Brad - nice duo
Matt with his usual 30+
Sloane - pops up when needed
Tex - best game for ages - looked like an AA KPF
JJ - playing like we always want him to
CEY - love his bulk in the middle
Gooch - love his delivery in the 50 (but only 14 touches - needs a bit more)
Talia before he went down was dominant
Keath - continues his AA form.
Laird very good again
Kelly - good defence shite kicking

Bad:
Douglas - surely Ned or Chayce get in front of him?
Milera - dog of a night.

Ugly
Umpiring in the 4th FFS
JJ's knee :-( Here's hoping for the best

I'm VERY concerned about these three going ahead, especially if we sustain injuries (Murphy, Talia, JJ) and the selectors decide they have to retain them.

What's happened to Milera's game or is he just out of position? His disposal tonight was woeful.
I kept tabs on Atkins all night, more about that later, but his good is overshadowed by his terrible.
Douglas --- was a warrior for us, but is well past his best. Davis or Wilson would do a better job than him.

Good
Brad, ROB, Laird, Atkins, JJ, Talia before he went off. Just about everyone really.
Sloane becoming a great forward target with his work rate, has become a great goal kicker for us.
Getting the win with no bench off a 5 day break

Bad
Milera, prone to making howlers, unforgivable for someone of his talent.
Dougie felt like a passenger despite the pressure act stats.
Lynch kneeing harto square in the head to take the hanger, really hate that. Just jump the shoulder you dog
