Actually, and I hope Horace doesn't mind, they go back further than that. They have been in service since the 50s in the USAF.

Still can't get over what Laos copped. Between 1964 and 1973 they had to endure over 500,000 air raids and some 2 million-odd tons of bombs dropped on their heads. Averages out to a bombing raid every 8 minutes, 24 hours daily, for 9 years.

As you so aptly put it, it's hard to even contemplate.

Very anti anything military, but any jet fighter ( growler, hornet, sukhoi ) are just amazing pieces of technology.
