Already some of our players have question marks about their style of play, and intensity to better the team. With so many injuries, it is interesting to see who really wants in.
Our intensity seems to be lacking this year, hopefully a few of our best 22 can inject this missing ingrediant.
This is what Deboer, Roberton, Mayne, Ballentyne, Suban have in spades.
Eye of the tiger, Lower, Faulkes, Mz all are hard at the contest players, and
can cover the loss of Tarrant, and Haselby.
I am concerned with players like Pearce, Bolly, Hinkely, Sibo all have skills
but do they really want it?

Out of interest what are you basing their lack of intensity this year on?
Training? 2 Nab Cup games?
How can you be concerned with Siba when he's barely made it out on the track this year? Does his being injured suggest a lack of intensity?

Long bow to draw. Haven't seen a lack of commitment from anyone in a long time. Our players haven't pulled out of a contest since 2009.

I was at the game last weekend. It wasn't lack of commitment, it was the structures breaking down.

completely agree, it is laughable that the team can be accused of having a lack of intensity after one nab cup round

Im not having a go at our best 22, or commitment of players. But for fremantle to keep ahead of the pack, there are positions up for grabs. This next group of players have a chance to cement their spot in the team.Morobito, Fyfe, Roberton, all first year players contributed on the training track and in games.
I hope im wrong and we make top 4, yes it was nab but hawthorn had their reserve team on the park. The so called depth players on the training track must
be intense to challenge, or we may just tread water.
I also hope Sibo makes it, will need kpps.

I thought that the poster may have just been posting something to get an ionteresting discussion going.
But,I like others, think that if he has done it on one performance in a series that means nothing, then he is barking up the wrong tree.
My big improver tip from last year was Pearce he disappointed me a bit.But I still think he will be a good player.

Absolutely the players should approach the NAB cup with more intensity, its not as if we can't afford a few injuries.

Morabito is going to find it a bit difficult to cement a spot in the team this year.

i would suggest we had more and better players missing from our side than what westcoast did, and some of the structures we had in place were harves having a laugh. in the mean time i suggest you take one of these

Thanks for the laugh, that chill pill was classic.Yes im well aware that Moro wont play, but he trained hard last year and brought aggression. He also went down in a basic training drill, injuries happen. The next few weeks will tell a story.

At one point in the game around a ball up we had Sandi rucking and Clarke and Griffin within 10 metres of the ball up. Clearly we were taking the piss. Still we should of done much better.

I do worry that our side is a bit too young (best 22 anyway). We should of got rid of Schammer last year and tried really hard to keep Hasleby. He wasn't doing any harm up forward and got over 20 goals for the year.

in theory the schammer/hase idea has merrit, but hase had slowed down to a crawl, would have been the slowest guy in the afl by the end of round 20 last year, with our high tempo game, hase was becoming a liability, he retired at the right time imo

Like it or not, Hazes back was shot and every player that played on him knew it. He had to go if only for his own good.

Obviously Mora also lacks intensity for not being there.:confused::rolleyes::rolleyes: And, similarly, because he didn't show up, Ben Allan lacks intensity...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Indeed. Structures with 7 guys over 6 foot in one's team would, one suspects, not be the same as real AFL season structures.

But but but... it was not just a round but a round robin!!! And everyone knows how intense them ring-a-ring-a-rosy competitions can be... Heck, the whole stress of putting one leg inny, and one elbow out-iieeeee, can be such-like enough to totally deeestroy an entire team's confidence for a whole season.

In short, Byron SChammmmjmmmerresquian language - we deserve it. Especially us.

Fo sure, teh fact that Pav didn't score 120+ Dreamteam and Supercoach points in either game means we is doomed this year. Doomed, I tells ya...

(And don't get me started on them damn Chevrons...)

As opposed to the story of a few weeks in September?? FFS, how about we just see how the first third of teh season goes before we slit wrists and adopt teh Kim Jong Ill Hackdorn attitude...

Last year Lloyd ran a program to fast track players. With Scott and Longmuir gone this year are we a bit thin on development coaches?
Or is this part of the plan for the future, I could be barking up the wrong tree and our future is assured.
Our best 22 is equal to any other clubs best 22.
Im concerned with the rest of the squad, because we will need them firing
with all the injuries.
So which players will make the grade this year?

There's a couple of ways of looking at this. On one hand, maybe the guys think (and if they are, it's disgraceful) that the success they had last year will automatically happen again, despite what Harves drilled into them after the Geelong final last year.

On the other hand, hopefully Harves told them to just go out and have fun WITHOUT getting injured. Take it easy, there are bigger fish to fry. I said before that if they are doing this second option, they better get it right when the Hill's, Barlow's, Mundy's and the like get back, we don't want to start the season poorly.

Harves led team = no 'softies' in the 22.

Nuff said.

Players who don't make the grade need time and get educated in the WAFL. Those that do have what the staff is looking for, catch the fast train to the bigtime.

It is just PRE-SEASON!
