Cooper Duff-Tytler pleaseKids that can kick, run both ways, defend and mark overhead one on one
Assuming we have 2 picks in the top 10:
Willem Duursma - Gippsland Power 191cm utility - 36 touches on the weekend
Riley Onley- Murray Bushrangers - 194cm MID
Oliver Greeves - Eastern Ranges - 191cm MID - BOG for the Ranges on the weekend
TWO OF THESE PLEASE MATTY ROSA!!!!!!
At this stage, I'd probably lean towards taking the risk. I'm inclined to agree with Wilson that the degree to which Reid is discussed is a little uncomfortable though, so I don't really want to say more about it than that.

I think we should target sub 160cm to mix things up a bit.All over 190cm and are not sub 180.

He’s a ruck forward.Who was the last top 10 ruck that became an elite ruck? If any?
I'll renew my membership if they commit to this rebuild.First Francis then Cox if there's anything we know best it's drafting "utilities"!!!
In all seriousness you're forgetting one thing, the club likes memberships. They like marketability. Which of those players has marketability?
The club will percieve Reid's arrival as a membership cashcow. Regardless of how Harley goes in his 2nd year he'll always have that aura about him.
Draftees are probably the more sensible approach as of now, but it won't generate clicks, barcodes, tickets and merch. And in a way, it won't drive up accountability like a Harley coup would.

Think we would work in future picks somehowDraper goes and nets us band 1, I think this is wishful thinking, but let's wish.
Assume we finish 15th, we'd have picks 4+5 plus the Demons 1st, I think 4+5 alone is worth more than what the Eagles would get next year, if Reid won't sign and wants out they'd take this deal.
We would get Harley, still have a 1st and 2 2nds while keeping our 2026 draft hand intact.

Yeah, plenty of ways we can do it. If we want Harley and he wants us, I think we can make the Eagles happy enough.Think we would work in future picks somehow![]()
I am right on the fence with this. Would love Reid but also keen to see what Rosa and crew could do with the picks.
Suppose it depends where our picks end up being.
I think scrutiny of the players should be allowed, and highly paid commentators like Kornes should also accept that they might be scrutinised for their comments.Editorial follow up to this segment;

Protected AFL players want to ‘have cake and eat it too’
AFL clubs don’t like it but this ‘problem’ cannot be avoided.7news.com.au
Think everyone would want Rowell. Miles ahead of Reid if a club was in the prem window.I'd prefer Rowell. We can't draft or develop players, so I'd prefer one developed. He's hungry too, I've seen him resort to eating grass.
I wouldn’t be giving up a kings ransom for Rowell. Hes only ever averaged low 20s possessions. He’s a good player no doubt, but he’s just another mid imo. There’s plenty out there. Players like Reid, Martin etc are the players who can rip the game away from an opposition, and are what separate finals.I'd prefer Rowell. He's 23 and entering his prime. I don't think we've seen anywhere near the best of Matt Rowell yet. If a club picks him up they'll have him during the ascendancy of his career. It would be foolhardy to guess where that ceiling stops.I wouldn’t be giving up a kings ransom for Rowell. Hes only ever averaged low 20s possessions. But we have both of them already... Oh... now I feel sad.I wouldn’t be giving up a kings ransom for Rowell. Hes only ever averaged low 20s possessions. I think what you see is what you get with Rowell. We all know what he is and what’ll be. There’s plenty of mids out there, he’s not a game breaker X factor that you should do anything in your power to get one. There’s good mids in every draft, why overspend on trading for Rowell. He's 23 and entering his prime. I don't think we've seen anywhere near the best of Matt Rowell yet.
