Watching the Sydney v Port game, I notice that the 50 metre arcs no longer intersect with the centre square.

Has the SCG been slightly reconfigured, or have they just moved the goalposts even closer to the fence?

That's going to be one less thing for people to complain about when their team goes down at the SCG.....

Reconfigured. Moved the goals posts around slighty and extended the ground at one end of the SCG (New Grandstand End) and have been able to extend the ground from 148m to 153m. Plus they have also got a bit of extra room behind the goal as well that they didn't have before.

Noone can call it a tiny ground anymore...153m...it was always a whinge not worth bothering with anyway because being able to play on different grounds is just another test.

Big wings at the SCG too...compare it to Kardinia Park for instance where its a lot thinner than many.

Famous sporting arena that looked absolutely sensational today in beautiful weather. Apart from the bloody contstruction.

No wonder you had trouble flooding 2day

Had no trouble today at all, we ran the ball through the middle superbly as part of a stratergy that we could beat Port on the run today. We attempt to play strategy to our advantage not get sucked in to someone else's... no mater how hard Vlad tries.

A few years out of date. Its 50 meters.
Metres*

However for the 150th year of Football the number on the arc is "150". Obviously it's not 150 metres so it has to be 150 feet. Making the arc come in just a few metres.

ahhhhh...no.

It's just a sign for the 150th year. Nothing to do with how far is it.

The "150" has nothing to do with the distance:rolleyes:

Eh. Then why the hell not just put it on the damn wing or something.

I have a hunch that without modification, the new stand currently under construction at the SCG would have increased the ground capacity to over 47000, thus violating the agreement in place with Stadium Australia. Moving the boundary line back a few metres killed two birds with one stone - it kept the capacity to <47K and made the ground a bit better for Aussie Rules..

The ground has been extended 3 metres

Well that explains why Geelong are so good at moving it up the middle of the ground, at the cattery that's all they've got.
