I can't even write fast enough to explain how embarrassing that was. If there was a Box Hill development squad TOB wouldn't be worthy, Ruff looks like a slow suburban full forward, diabolical isn't even the word.

Sorry but losing Poppy/Cyril is a cop out. Belted in the middle having those two in would of changed nothing.
Point we’ll missed....

My issue is that they were out, yet our plan with regard to forward entries didn’t change. Surely with those 2x out, you change your plan to bomb in long & apply forward pressure to lock it in?

Frawleys been a flop since coming over ftom Melbourne as a big ticket item ... there ya go

... and bring crazy eyes Langford back

Ummm, he destroyed walker, pav and Kennedy in cut throat finals to help us threepeat. Been injured for a long period also. Needs continuity and provides structure. When you are getting pumped in the contest and the middle there is not much he can do.

Langford wouldn’t have made a difference.

Clearly the rebuild is still on foot. Need to try developing players.

As much as it hurts, this will happen when serious experience is out. Poppy (playing well), rioli, Burgoyne (always classy) and birchall (showed how important he was last season playing only a couple of games) are massive massive massive outs.

Take these types of players out of any team and they are gone.

KOLOKOTRONIS

Cyril and Poppy kick goals, create goals and most important of all stop the ball getting out of the forwardline without a panicked kick.
Most of what they doesnt show up on a stat sheet.
The 2 are worth many many goals scored and saved
Moving Hardwick forward was a net loss
Impey stepped up but its big shoes to fill
We need to adapt to the massive hole

Was a really dumb loss. Can’t cruise against average teams anymore - we don’t have a superstar on each line like we used to.

The second half we got it on our terms and had them panicking. We went back into ourselves though after getting the first goal of the last, which I thought was weird.

Quite a few pointed to this as a danger game prior to the match. There was a combination of Etihad Stadium, north’s unpredictability, Cyril/rioli out and us exceeding our own expectations in the first month of the season that made a few of us doubt.

Didn’t expect the first half to be as awful as it was though - that was a shock.
I like that Cyril is two players. Makes sense.

At least we fought back and played some decent footy in the second half. Saved some percentage too which may be important later in the year.

Very disappointing games from quite a few players. Mitchell and Jaeger were probably due a stinker as was Big Boy.

Roughie was very poor. His dropped marked in the third when we were coming was a momentum killer.

Doc was Doc. Went hard but too many changers. Burton was invisible.

Bruest and Gunston, along with Morrison, Smith, Henderson, Cousins, Stratts and Impey can probably all hold their heads up.

A good lesson today that there are no easy games.

Is Mitchell Lewis a chance next week? Would have loved more of a contested mark option

I hope he gets an opportunity, as switching between Sfoey and O'Brien doesn' look like going anywhere, so I'd like to see how he goes at the top level. Rough might like a weeks rest.

Lewis or Shoe has to come in for Obrien. I know people will defend Roughy to the death but he isn't really offering much more then Obrien either.

Frawley is just horrible.. His drop off is bigger and worse then Gibson's a couple years back. Is he contracted next year? God I hope not.

Burton looks poor, I can't get my head around it. Can we move him into the midfield?

Howe is pretty much useless in an already slow midfield. He has a good tackling game every now and then but is pretty much a negative on the field most weeks. The last slow midfield spot has to be between Howe and Cousins and Cousins has my vote...Howe has had a lot of chances compares to Cousins.

Have to keep playing Morrison although him backing out of the contest was pathetic.

I know people bash duryea, he can make silly choices but he is far from our worst. He's always going do more good then bad.

Would like to see Lewis, Shoe, O'Rourke and of course Burgs all potential ins this week.

Was Shiels gone all last quarter too? We spent too much coming back and had one gone ourselves. Last quarter wasn't the problem.

Burton and Rough are really struggling. Both were liabilities today sadly.
I thought I heard say Shiels didn't come back out of the rooms. Just can't remember if that was after 1/2 or 3/4 time.

You could tee off at a raft of players, young and old. First half was frighteningly similar to times of this time last year.

I think it's a great reminder that whilst we have talent, we also are young and still evolving.

Second half showed the promise, first half showed what can happen if we are off our game.

Review it hard, then Move on quickly

Wizz is sick of Howe plodding around flat footed. He had lots of mates today. Duryea, Glass, OBrien, OMeara, Frawley, all tres ordinaire. In fact very tres ordinaire.
Wizz also hope his eyes were deceiving him when Morrison went at a contest in the last qtr.
We lick our wounds to quote Clarko and move on to a resurgent St Kilda next week. Big game in the scheme of things, but they all are. It is what it is.
