You are making a tit of yourself. From the RSL website.

ANZAC Day 2021 will be commemorated in Melbourne and across Victoria this year within the State Government’s COVID-Safe Public Events Framework.

"Mr Twidale said safety was at the centre of everything the RSL had done to prepare for the event."

"The Victorian government granted permission for 8,000 people to attend the march — up from 5,000.

However, the RSL warned that numbers may remain low in the lead-up.

Registrations were allowed up until midnight, with QR code check-in available for veterans and descendants available this morning.

The RSL had urged people to attend local events rather than travelling into the city, but some members of the public still watched as COVID-safe marshals monitored the crowds."

The public health provisions on the books allowed 8,000 to take part in the march, no limit on spectators so long as people registered their attendance and for no more than the normal barricades.

It was the RSL who chose additional restrictions, due to safety concerns for unvaccinated elderly marchers. Clown shit from you TBH, trying to repeat nuff O'Briens rabble rousing almost word for word.

some would say you are biting the hand that feeds you...
in other words you are denigrating the very person you are trying to work into a ditch..
it can happen that what you believe is not what you believe..
You aren't Slippery are you? You speak in riddles like him.

Seems consistent with other states too, hard to see what the Merlino govt did wrong. Another sign of how good things are with Dan off on long term leave (not good he is hurt)

I can't help you that you have the attention span of a goldfish. We weren't talking about the march. We were talking about the dawn service at the Shine of Remembrance being restricted to 1,400 people because of the Victorian government's restrictions. There was a fence built around the Shrine so that we saw decorated ex-servicemen who wanted to attend kept behind the wire like POWs. Later that day 85,000 people were allowed to go to a football game.

Anyone who thinks this was okay is absolutely delusional. But hey “science” yeah?

I knew it i knew it i knew it. Now the dust has settled andrews want to bring in international students.

Who would have thought..no surprise. Puts mcgowan in a sticky situation. But let's not kid yourself. Labor is no different from lnp in regards to international vistors

what are you on? NSW and VIC have BOTH been lobbying for international student specific intake numbers since back in January

The MCG has specific measures in place to maintain some COVID-safe measures (gate separating areas).

The Shrine is not set up with seats or separate areas, nor access points. If you were really concerned about elderly diggers' health and wellbeing, you wouldn't be advocating that tens of thousands of elderly people gather in an un-separated place with no controls in the middle of a Pandemic.

It's a lot easier to manage COVID separation at the MCG than at the Shrine. And not that many soldiers actually go to the Shrine service.

There were thousands of dawn services at RSLs all over the country (one of which I attended) for vets to attend which it was much more easy to be separated.

Ah ok my bad - I guess when everyone leaves the G - they all stay in their allocated zones when packed at Richmond station. #science

Let's not forget the Government constantly claimed that 10,000 people gathered outdoors standing shoulder to shoulder for hours last year and despite a few covid positive cases in attendance, not a single person caught Covid at the event...

But now it's too dangerous, despite no documented outdoor transmission.

They are either full of s*** or don’t know what they’re doing and are making it up as they go, pending financial profits. Or perhaps both?

still in the great state of victoria are you ednut?

in the middle of a Pandemic.

There have been a total of 3 locally acquired 'cases' in the whole of Australia in the last 7 days. All have been quarantined and 'third ring’ contract traced. There's no pandemic in this country that requires ex servicemen and their families to be kept behind fences like POWs for health reasons.

So has SA. They had a pilot program all ready to kick off in May/June that has been delayed because of the vaccine issue.

Airborne / hyper fast / sprinting / jumping room to room type virus.

Remember last year when Danny Boy finally took a day off and the media was free to ask Sutton questions about the health advice behind some restrictions and he openly admitted there was none. Funnily enough he was absent from the next few press conferences...

remember last year when a squib constantly said he would be leaving this state for dead the minute quarantine was finished?

If you disagree, you're off TV.

I've got a feeling that the kind of people that post this aren't the kind of people who would understand the Medical Evidence if it was presented to them.

False. I’m a reasonable fella. All I’ve ever wanted was honesty and reasons behind decisions. If you need 3 days (lockdown) to catch up on contact tracing as it’s really hard to do and they are overwhelmed, then SAY SO.. Don’t deflect and give us crap answers. The state would be in a better spot if they were honest.
