For the first time he never mentioned driving numbers to zero. At least the initial part I saw. He's done that every other day. He only talked about getting cases lower.

He also only talked about driving cases down with lockdown so we can "lockdown less". Only time he mentioned opening up was at 80%. Normally he's spoken about not wanting to be in a position where, like NSW, we had to "vaccinate our way out of this".

Which is where we are now.

Both states f’ed up by not going hard enough early enough at specific groups who simply dontbelieve the rules applied to them.

Lockdowns are pointless if not properly enforced.

825 cases v 61 would indicate not in the same situation.

Yup, we live in an age where information can be spread and shared like never before but with that comes the ability to send misinformation

Anyone can post or say anything and claim any credentials they want with people eating it up without even a quick goodie search to try and confirm the claims they are reading or basic fact check

He said the modelling that says we can be fully open at 70-80% ONLY works with low numbers, not high numbers

This has always been the case

The reason for the low tolerance on low numbers now is they blow us very easily. With 70-80% of population vaxxed, it's a lot slower a spread (and thus more manageable)

If it goes off its ****, then we have a problem, but it's much less likely.

It's when the hospitalization numbers become more a factor (and NSW is running at 5% of infected in hospital which isn't great, hence why let it rip isn't appropriate yet)
