Another fail this week from the Premier. Dan Andrews was asked at a press conference this week how many of the 4000 ICU beds that his Health minister announced in 2020 had been delivered, and this is what his response was:

"No. Hang on a minute, that is not what she announced"

Dan then went on to ask mockingly whether he and his government were expected to set up 4000 extra ICU beds in a converted warehouse or turn the Exhibition Building into an ICU unit, as if the proposition was entirely preposterous.

Yet another lie by Dan. Because this is exactly what he proposed. His minister said last year, "we are going to fund another 4000 intensive care beds taking us to a total of 4500". And Dan even released a statement confirming the $1.3 Billion funding to create the extra 4000 beds.

Clearly, not one new ICU bed was created.

As long as Dan keeps lying to us how can anyone believe anything he says. How can we believe his statements about ending lockdown?

I know this post will be met with derision by Danfans. Maybe, before you LOL it give us your take on the ICU beds.

I'd love to know what exactly was done with that proposed money.

Surely an external panel of experts should be the ones ticking off on these things? Who are the people that are keeping oversight on all these measures the government is taking, it should be downright illegal that a premier of a state can write up his own emergency rules using a blank sheet to put what ever they want on it.

Nothing Andrews says can be believed.

According to Andrews:

1. The hard work done during last year's lockdowns were supposed to squash Covid, so we could lock in "covid normal"
2. 4000 ICU beds promised by Mikakos and him in April last year were never promised
3. No party is to blame for the HQ fiasco. He deflected that with insulating "I don't recall" garbage
4. He injured himself while walking a down a flight of 2 stairs
5. Nothing to see with his wife's Drink driving issue with the cyclist
6. No deals done with Setka to make the charges he had hanging around disappear
7. Vic's CT system is considered the best.. "Not a boast, others are copying it". This was the rubbish he was saying approx a week before announcing another lockdown

Along with a heap of other half truths, deflections and blatant lies

Interesting that NSW Commonwealth allocation is still so severely mismatched.

Since August till now, NSW "brought forward" allocation has never dipped. It seems permanent, not temporary.

Victoria's has only just reached per capita allotment in the last couple of days and only through a supposed "boost" in allocation.

Can anyone, even those that are the stand with Dan crowd, explain how this isn't something that is done by a external panel with oversight? It's basically a group of men writing their own rules and implementing them. It's just truly bizarre how this is even possible.

It isn't done by an external panel with oversight in any single state or territory.

Victoria has the least powers granted to a government, during states of emergency or disaster. NSW government for instance can extend indefinitely, unilaterally.
