i'm very familiar with the north road ormond grade separation. it's a downright lie 2 say the traffic flow is no better. it's been a super success. they have just changed the speed limit 2 40km through the shopping centre which has slowed the flow a tad but the works have resulted in huge traffic flow improvements.

btw the same applies 2 the mckinnon road, centre road, and burke road grade separation.

stop making up s**t. just do us a favour and piss-off somewhere else. england preferably.
Lilydale and Mooroolbark are also improvements but Eddie would be kicked out of the Dictator Dan club if he got caught even being neutral about something

Dunno about Ormond but the other two already had traffic lights as has been mentioned to you previously.

But your misery has been noted

Lilydale had a pedestrian crossing you’d rarely stop at, now it’s got an intersection and traffic still backs up the hill.

Mooroolbark has more than it used to so the sequence is longer.

I’m sure for people who use it every day multiple times they might notice some improvement. But it’s not like traffic flow is massively improved just because the level crossing isn’t down for 30 seconds every half hour…

I thankfully rarely go through it anymore when I used to pass through 3-4 times a week when the crossing was there.

I’d say I’ve stopped at the pedestrian lights just as much as the train line. But as said I’m not a regular user.

But if saving someone 10 seconds once a week is Dans legacy then wow, what a Premier!!!

The only thing Dans ever promised that might improve my daily life was supposed to be completed in October last year. Still haven’t even started on it and apparently the reason is the government massively underfunded it and there is no money. At least the sign is still there to remind of their failure, maybe one day…

About the only 3 I’ve been through as they sure don’t bother removing them in regional Victoria.

Lilydale, Mooroolbark and Ormond.
I live 500 metres from Mooroolbark station. An extra set of traffic lights has been introduced but it’s an infinitely better system.

The whole project has improved that small area significantly. I used to get caught every morning for at least 5 minutes due to double train crossings and backlog of traffic due to it.

Weren’t you moving to NSW?

Weren’t you moving to NSW?

Seems to be a lot of obsession with where I live 🤷‍♂️

But yes that was the plan but Victoria offered me a lot more money to stay so I did the next best thing and live on the border, a short trip to the wonderful land of NSW and a lot closer than those horrible Melburnians or anyone who’d ever vote Greens…🤮🤮

Nope, I don’t use public transport which is about all he has built…

One foot in Gladys country
The other in Disaster Dan town

at least you've admitted 2 commenting on something you know sfa about, yet u put it up as an example.

u just make stuff up and/or wilfully lie. going back 2 you not remaining in a state where andrews was premier. what was that 5 years ago. still in vic. is lying part of the cookers modus operandi?

before the grade separation it wasn't uncommon 2 be held-up at the crossing for 5, 6, 7 minutes. during peak times cars on the west side of the line could queue for up to a km. so bad and frequent were the hold ups peeps who knew the lay of the land avoided the crossing by travelling an extra 1 or 2 kms to an underpass. u never see queues anything like that now.

ormond was part of 3 grade separations all of which r outstanding successes.

the plan at ormond is 2 build a shopping plaza over the station with some units above the plaza which would enliven an ordinary street shopping centre.

stop writing pure unadulterated bullshit.

This is just false.

Backing up the hill is a long standing tradition in lilydale

there might have only been a pedestrian crossing but it used to get activated by the buses going in and out of the station anyway

there is a second set of traffic lights for entering and exiting the multi level car park, the original intersection always had traffic lights except now you have better access into and out of sherlock road

yes its a massive improvement because during peak hour trains run much more frequently than twice an hour and in more than one direction as well

how illogically one eyed do you have to be to think grade separation is a net loss for road users

less congestion and safer, how bloody terrible that must be for you

surely you can find something legitimate to criticise Dan on?

Hopefully the whispers are true and duck shooting is about to be banned. For Australia's most progressive government support for this cruelty is unfathomable.
Would have thought it too early to abandon the chance at getting some upper house support from the Shooters.

I suppose under Dans lockdowns it would feel like 5 years or longer 😂😂

The Victorian government doesn’t need the sole SFF vote in the Legislative Council if it can appease the views of the Greens, Animal Justice Party & Legalise Cannibas.

Well aware of the numbers, they like having multiple dance partners for different pieces of legislation and like having the option to not deal with the Greens when possible. I don't think Dan wants to legalise weed either if he can get away with it so they'll want all possible combinations live for as long as possible.

They got a fair bit of mileage out of the Transport Matters dill Rod Barton, I reckon they'll be looking to make friends with the Shooters in a similar fashion.

What combination of minor parties would lead to any vote going through for Labor if the Greens & Animal Justice party were put off side?

I'm saying they won't want anyone off side completely, they do a lot of horse trading with as many people as possible for as long as possible. Somyurek will be ignored and Limbrick will be vary rarely interested in most of the agenda but everyone else they'll want to be able to have a go at getting on board depending on the topic. AJP have been pretty friendly with Labor.

But the AJP’s number one policy is banning duck shooting. Therefore it is significantly easier to introduce legislation that will satisfy their party needs (and is also supported by other progressive parties) than follow the political interests of an individual member of the LC.

You’re ignoring the reality of the situation to suggest that a SFF member has more power than they do.

I really not saying anything other than expressing doubt that Labor would burn the option value of the potential SFF vote in favour of AJP at the start of this term when they have a likely tricky upper house. I don't have any inside info though, just going on what's happened in previous terms of this gov.

The previous term of government relied on multiple individual members (due to the composition of the LC), this time around the government requires more votes (up 6 from 3) and has parties of members they need to satisfy.

The AJP is the third of that group (and less important than the Greens & the Cannibis group). But making a political decision to support a minor party that helped you in the last term & will likely support you in this term makes more political common sense than ignoring the AJP’s request because they might upset the SFF member.
