Depends on where. On the Monash they're hard to miss.Pretty easy to accidentally miss a small 40kph sign though

Generally if it doesn't comply with the standard and the law it can be thrown out.I remember in the 90s cases like this didn't usually go too well. The courts needed some genuine issue to be causing the sign to be unreadable, and they held a pretty high bar.

It's why the variable speed signs flash the way they do

Is that another conspiracy?Don’t forget that most of the people who bag conspiracy theorists also believe Rupert Murdoch controls the world![]()
You do realise VicRoads is only responsible for about 15-20% of roads in the state?i think thats the point - after some were thrown out vicroads went out of its way to ensure all were compliant
even on speed cameras, there is a mountain of work that goes into their placement to ensure they cannot be kicked anymore
I was personally familiar with racial discrimination well before you woke up to its related injustice. Are you saying you will try and be more woke?

I'm curious whether this happened in the Monash or another freeway?Speaking of fines, I just got my first ever speeding fine today; by mail. Apparently I was doing 52 in a 40 zone on a freeway. I’ve no recollection of the incident; it was obviously some sort of reduced speed scenario involving road works or the like. $363, that’s my contribution towards the $1 billion plus flushed away along with a range of other wasted ALP initiatives.
I’m happy to contribute towards overcoming Vic’s mismanagement related budget shortfalls, but will need to do some reflection on how to avoid repeating such stupid driving error in future,
Councils need an MoU from VicRoads to implement a change in speeds from existing or from the pre-determined default.roads yes, but i understood the speeds on those roads was determined by vicroads policy - not individual councils
That's correct - We have been trying to get a speed limit changed on our street and was told in no uncertain terms by the council that DoT have the final sign off on changes (which we are still waiting for after 18 months).roads yes, but i understood the speeds on those roads was determined by vicroads policy - not individual councils
Pro Tip: Write to your local MP and get them on-board. If they approach DoT directly (via the regional VicRoads office) you'll get a faster outcome. That's correct - We have been trying to get a speed limit changed on our street and was told in no uncertain terms by the council that DoT have the final sign off on changes (which we are still waiting for after 18 months).
I dunno. Why did you try to get me banned?why is Ghost Patrol laughing at me getting a fine :-D
Hatred.
Oh. Thanks for clearing that up.You’ve probably expressed some anti-Dan opinions at some stage.
It's a troll-ish defensive mechanism for anything that's deemed to go against the 'progessive' nutjob narrative.why is Ghost Patrol laughing at me getting a fine :-D
What if you're wrong? It's a troll-ish defensive mechanism for anything that's deemed to go against the 'progessive' nutjob narrative.
During the peak of the pandemic every time I dared criticize Disaster Dan for being an incompetent political animal for his hopeless handling of the pandemic I would either get abused or have my posts laughed at as a way of ridiculing perfectly valid and legitimate concerns about a politician that was clearly out of his depth.
I could do the same thing in the Morrison thread, reacting with LMAO emoticons to the thousands of posts bitching and wailing about the Liberals in that thread, but I got better things to do than that.
Hard to believe that every major criticism of Disaster's handling of the pandemic was 'wrong' given that no other state premier came close to his bungling of it.What if you're wrong?
What if your posts were bitching and wailing about Andrews. And you were dismissive of valid and legitimate concerns around Morrison?
Do you have an example to support your statement?
i dunno man, I mean I've seen some absolutely cooked takes in this thread that are worth laughing at because the alternative is crying at the stupidity of peopleIt's a troll-ish defensive mechanism for anything that's deemed to go against the 'progessive' nutjob narrative.

Ah yes I called him disaster or dictator and then ranted some argument put forth in a murdoch rag or on a Craig Kelly segment on Alan Jones show and then people made fun of meHard to believe that every major criticism of Disaster's handling of the pandemic was 'wrong' given that no other state premier came close to his bungling of it.
I'm not going back months to find an example of it, you can do it yourself by going that far back and finding emoticon reactions from LWNJ posters to comments critical of Vic Labor and Disaster during this time.
Anyway it didn't just happen to me, (I only posted a few times) it happened to every poster that didn't toe the line about blaming the need for the multiple Melbourne lockdowns on the Feds and Morrison rather Disaster who had no qualms in hiring low skilled employees, many who were migrants and blatantly obvious he was politicising the situation to garner votes in the migrant community, to oversee a delicate operation that demanded the very best.
Disaster talked about that no life was worth playing a round of gold, a pair of sneakers, etc... all the while he was treating the running of the quarantine operations as if it were some second rate night club or festival in Woop Woop.
Absolute dogturd of a human being, the only redeeming feature that he has in the eyes of the LWNJ is that he espouses and promotes the delusional woke nonsense (toxic feminism, insidious pro trans agenda, Christianophobia , etc...) that the Green loonies love so much, therefore they overlook his failings as a politician because of it.
No, there is plenty of legitimate major and minor criticisms of Dan Andrews. People don't tend to be laughed at or 'attacked' just for expressing them.Hard to believe that every major criticism of Disaster's handling of the pandemic was 'wrong' given that no other state premier came close to his bungling of it.

What's one example of "Murdoch" being a "go to excuse"?Given Murdoch has been a go to excuse for the past few years, its bloody widespread IF its a conpiracy by people who get their news on the taxpayer.
Ah yes I called him disaster or dictator and then ranted some argument put forth in a murdoch rag or on a Craig Kelly segment on Alan Jones show and then people made fun of me
did you also get on the Avi is a legit journalist bandwagon during the cooker protests?

Just the two posts of yours I've responded to, (this one and the previous), gives me the impression that you don't just give legitimate criticisms, but that you use emotive language, hyperbole, and vague smears to create an over-arching narrative of how he is a "dogturd of a human being", without actually going into much detail on anything.
Surface level stuff that can be, and is, used for barracking. (Done by both 'sides', including by me).
It's like posters who complain they were thread banned just for 'asking a question'. It's almost never true, and there is much more to the story.
