Come on mate, leaving the speeding issue aside I am sure you have seen plenty of people in the right hand lane, sitting well under the speed limit and banking traffic up behind them.

It’s really very simple, keep left unless overtaking.
Keep left unless overtaking is for freeways/motorways only.

Australians are so bad at merging that if you're using overseas software to model traffic you have to over-ride the default merge settings to make it worse to reflect Australian behaviours. It's not just selfishness, there's a huge divide between a) driving abilities and b) perception of driving abilities. This is mostly due to a complete lack of professional training of drivers (they get no objective feedback about their abilities) and the driving test being very short and very easy.

Keep left unless overtaking is for any multi-lane road with a speed limit of 80km/h or higher mate.

I went to a defensive driving course at Sandown a few years ago. The first thing the instructor said to the group of about 20 or so was "hands up if you consider yourself an above average driver?"

Almost everybody raised their hand.

Who ever has gotten a PCR for flu?

It was openly reported that during 2020 flu cases tanked because lockdown meant it wasn't being passed on.

And more so, we've been warned 2022 will be a super season for flu because we have been exposed for two years
Flu viruses come into the country via travellers. There were very few during covid.

Well aware mate, which was my point.

Aged care is freaking out about what this flu season will be like

Probs similar to previous flu seasons, old people will die, unfortunately. It’s a dangerous illness for that age group, as well as children. I hope we’ve learned that vaccination is important, for everyone, but I don’t want to see another mass panic and headlines when people inevitably die. Human beings are susceptible to viruses, full stop.

Way to miss the point.

Aged care has always dealt with bad flu seasons, it's just noone gave a shit before. What it will mean is if we do have a bad flu season as is being forecast, the current mitigation measures in aged care won't be going away any time soon.

Was in the right hand-lane on a freeway. Caught up to the car in front of me and had to slow to 85 or so. Getting over taken by the middle lane. Some space is made, car in front of me doesn't move. I move to the middle lane, get back to 100 and it felt like I was speeding. After a few minutes of driving that car was still in the right lane, loads of cars behind them and I was gaining distance.

Those people shouldn't be in the right hand lane

I didn’t miss the point, I added to it. Of course there will need to be strict rules with aged care, although I hope the carers won’t be required to wear PPE indefinitely, or even masks. Old people need their carers to be friendly faces, not faceless robots keeping their distance. But lamenting and gnashing teeth whenever one of them dies of flu could become tedious.

You’re justified to lean on the horn if there’s room for them to move over.

FFS, masks and PPE is going nowhere any time soon. If anything, the requirements are being more institutionalized

and again, infection control measures have been in place long before covid (due to issues like the flu), its just covid is more a bitch to hold back

anyone thinking masks will disappear any time before 2023 at the earliest is dreaming

It depends on my mood or if I’m actually in a hurry to if I’d tailgate then till they move or just go around them.

Had one the other night much like their post and had to go around, the p plater was still in the right lane doing about 85 when he disappeared from my rear view mirror.

What really pisses me off is those who’ll sit in the right lane and only move cos they’re turning off. Had multiple trucks on the Hume sitting in the right lane yesterday holding everyone up and only moving when they saw their turn off in 1km sign…

Apparently SA is now removing blanket prohibitions against unvaccinated from working onsite. “removing mandates for education and passenger transport workers”

Vic Charter stipulates rights should only be restricted where no other reasonable alternative exists. SA has today adopted alternative to blanket prohibition; ie those in related listed categories previously banned from working onsite are now permitted to do so but must wear masks at all times. It’s relevant because as a fellow Federal AU State, that approach might eventually be considered a reasonable alternative by Vic Gov.

They’re still human beings Gralin, their right to be regarded as such is also enshrined in that same Charter . They can and should be restricted where there is no other reasonable alternative means of protecting others. But if another way of achieving the same protection is available, it wouldn’t be appropriate to dismiss them in that way.

Get vaccinated and they’d have no issues.

Why should people who have the public interest at heart do the heavy lifting for these parasites?

I'd like to think management has learned a few lessons ...
