What sort of review would he prefer / does he want?

Gotta love Australia, Pat Cummins can't have a say about who sponsors the side he leads but Twiggy Forrest gets an opinion on absolutely everything.

How is that "independent"?

Would love a doctor on that panel. Someone to represent public health

The review was conducted by people not connected to the Government, so it is clearly independent.

However, Independent is not a synonym for "unbiased" or "qualified to express an opinion".
There wasn't a single medical, epidemiological or scientific expert from a relevant field on the panel.

Also, look at the funding source. Like saying a study funded by the Koch foundation is "independent".

Crazy. What a smashing. Almost makes it strange that Dan the man isn’t out and about mingling with the public and celebrating his popularity.

Just because you’re not seeing him, doesn’t mean he’s not out there. He did two public events today—- the SEC announcement in Melbourne and then a trip to Rochester.

Every day for the past week it seems that he’s done both a metro & a regional location each day—- while still working as the Premier of Victoria.

You have to remember that the government hasn’t gone into caretaker mode yet.

Umm--- no it's not. the Government is still governing until the 1st November.

Do you not fact check the sh*t you hear on Rukshan & Avi's live feeds?

Thanks for posting that as it answered my question, I was thinking the other day what are the requirements for the government to spend the hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars they’ll need to spend throughout the caretaker period responding to the flood crisis as this will continue well beyond the election.

Seems reading that it’s more convention than any actual rules in place so shouldn’t be any issues.

I doubt billions will be signed away under caretaker conventions, especially with how East-West was handled back in 2014.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement late next week topping up the Flood Recovery program by another $x amount of dollars (prior to caretaker conventions starting) that will be used for short-term recovery bringing the impacted areas to a liveable state, then both major parties will announce specific electorate promises that will commence in December--- allowing the recovery costs become a 'soft' election topic to give positive headlines throughout November.

Tbf I got an email for work which started “as government enters caretaker mode… ensure you do not say anything that implies <employer> endorses either party”
