It's time.

It's time to get back to being the Hunter and returning to the relentless pressure, hardness and tackling around the ball and forward line in particular.

It was clear against the Saints and the Cats that we were the Hunted and most disappointingly we weren't prepared for it. I would dare say, almost surprised and shell shocked. The Cats came out in the first 5 minutes last week and had 12 tackles while also banging on 5 straight goals while our guys were still trying to work out they were playing for a top 4 position.

We can't be surprised like this no more. Time to draw a line in the sand and it starts this week against the Hawks. I don't care (well may be a little) if we lose, but I can't stand for weak as piss effort and lack of mental preparation. ****ing switch on Dons, top 6 spot up for grabs! (and respect)

I hate this thread.
I thought it was going to be about your want for Hal Hunter to make his debut.

I agree with the mentality in the short term (i.e. until the end of our September sojourn, be it one week or four) but it's time we stopped being the hunter and started being the best.

**** YOU TASMANIA MY HANDS ARE COLD AND I CANNOT TYPE PROPERLY WITHOUT HAVING TO HIT DELETE 400 TIMES, BUT IT'S WORTH IT FOR HAL!

I agree. We havent handled being hunted for a long time and our better games have been with our backs against the wall.

I had my surname quoted today on Bigfooty too HAHA! It's not even a common one like Marshall.

Lately the appearance of my somewhat uncommon surname has been a daily occurrence....

Oops! So back to the Bombers. Whether we win this match or not is up to us, pure and simple. We come out and play "the way we want to play" and it's in the bag. Luckily for the Hawks they're already wearing the poos and wees strip.

Seriously though last year against Geelong we tagged Scarlett and on Anzac Day the defensive fwd role on Harry O swung the game our way. Lately we just seem to be backing our corridor play even when we are 10 goals down. Is it just a case of these moves no longer working or have they been dropped in favour of our attacking game plan?

Fact is no team can play with the intensity that Geelong played with against us each week. There will be up and down weeks, players will get tired and injured and occasionally coaches will get plans and structures wrong.

Despite the players being professional it would be hard to get excited about a game against Port in front of 25k!!

That all said we need to act as hunters each week the coaches decide is a big game. Last week and the next two are BIG weeks. If we were able to be very competitive and jag one or two then it would have put us in good stead for finals, even if we still didn't make top 4 there would have been plenty of confidence to win the first elimination. As it stands now that limp effort leaves us with low confidence going into two games where we'll be very much under dogs then under a lot of pressure in games against three sides desperate to play finals. All three also have a strong hatred for us and want to show that we're not ahead of them.
