looks like 1 more needs to be trimmed as the HeraldSun have named 16.

that being said and with nz naming their squad - it won't be far away until the squad is finalised.

they did say in the article, 1 player to possibly be a travelling reserve. Squad to be named later in the week apparently.

How does Mark Chapman continue to get selected for NZ? He's like their Stoinis from what I can tell.
Made 90 odd against Pakistan last week, is better on slower wickets, plus NZ have absolutely awful depth to choose from, probably the least besides the minow countries otherwise Williamson would have also retired years ago from this format.

(Still don’t know why someone with the name Mark Chapman never changed it)

Cannot believe Stoinis has burgled his way into another World Cup squad, like seriously he shouldn’t have been selected for the last 3 World Cup squads but somehow has become an essential squad vibe selection.

Selectors going to come out and say some crap like it’s because he’s a bowling option and they’ll have to given he has barely made a run at international level for years but given he’s spent so much time on the sidelines injured he’s bowled what 6 overs since the World Cup last year?

An absolute horrible decision especially when you have Hardie, Green, Short and JFM in the wings and Stoinis & lesser extent Wade are getting a go in front of them. Know they’ve selected Wade for a finisher role but how many times do you need a finisher in T20 World Cups? To select Stoinis & Wade because of what they did in a semi final 3 years ago in the UAE is stupid.

Fraser-McGurk should just say he can bowl medium pace or keep and he might be a chance if the other 2 breakdown.

He’s also from Hong Kong

I'm delighted to see India have picked Chahal in their squad at least. He's been brilliant since he joined the Royals. He could finish with the purple cap but have Kuldeep, Jadeja and Patel ahead of him in the pecking order.

Thin on batting if someone is injured or horribly out of form.

We’ve picked four spinners. Too many in my opinion. Picking another quick would have been better. Harsha Bhogle suggested Sandeep Sharma

Thin on batting if someone is injured or horribly out of form.
RSA were also heavily reliant on their batting in the WC last year as well. Things haven’t changed. But they bat deep, which can also been condensed to add more bowlers.

Has has a series of underwelming scores in the opportunities in the IPL. Ryan Rickelton, who has superseded both vdDussen and Rosssouw for that spot scored 570 runs from 10 innings in the SA20 going at 58 @ 173. Then 441 runs from 13 innings in the CSA T20 Challenge going at 40 @ 144.

Most likely. However wasn’t happy with Hardiks bowling performances this IPL. Last night however took 2/24 from his four. Dube may need beg for a bowl from Rutu now
