Smaller grounds would help, but are they over-reliant on "boundary or dot"? I know its T20, and hitting is the aim but the 1s and 2s in between seem to mostly come from mishit boundary shots.

Been close to our best player for Australia in t20 internationally was cruicial in a number of t20’s in the last 18months. Stars would be crying though bloke thinks he’s on a 3 month holiday for them

Literally every team has those players though. The guy has played a game - a franchise one admittedly - where he took a hat trick, and came in with his side 6-down for about 40 chasing 200 or so and hit a century and won them the game. Even in their last series against England he had games where he went berserk and bowled well and then in the next game made no runs and got belted with the ball. It’s the nature of the format and every team will pick players that have that game in them. It’s worth the risk because it’s pretty rare that they will legit ‘cost’ you a game; you can always just not bowl them 4 overs if they’re having a bad night, and if they make a first ball duck then there’s 7-8 other batsmen to take up the slack, but when they click they can pretty much win you a game on their own
