West Indies return back to Australia for the first time to Hobart , the venue they lost to Scotland and Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2022 qualifying.

8 members who played in their last game in Hobart against Ireland, are in their squad.

The last time West Indies played a T20 at Hobart they got absolutely destroyed by Ireland which saw them crash out of the World Cup before the Super 12 stage.

Great memories for me as one of about 1k people there to see it.
They didnt just lose to Ireland, they got thumped by them by 9 wickets. Their bowling largely looked toothless.

Alot has happened since then though, this same team beat England at home against expectations in December 2023.

We have an upgrade in the team now

One that has been doing the role in odi's
Inglis has only kept in four of his 15 T20Is. We are six games away from a T20 World Cup. You should get used to the notion that Wade will keep in the WC and Inglis will play as a batter only.

Nothing you are saying changes the fact that we have an upgrade that we are refusing to use

Wade has been successful as the keeper & batting in the specialist no.7 position for the last few years...Inglis will most likely bat up the order in the top 4...Tbh, it doesn't really matter who keeps out of the two, as they're both in the WC best XI at this stage.

Whether you or I think he is an upgrade or not is not particularly relevant. It's what the selectors think that matters, and they are happy with the current line-up. No point getting worked up about something we have no control over.

It's a forum, if we aren't here to voice our views then why else be here?

It makes no sense to not have Inglis keep, he is a better gloveman, I'm not saying to drop Wade, he can play his role still, it's weird to make him keep in order to justify his place in the team, just let him be the finisher

Was nice to see a video from West Indies Cricket on social media today of Chris Gayle taking 5 and hitting a 50 in coloured clothes against the Aussies from yesteryear

Maybe if Australia can add another allrounder to the Green/Marsh salad they can come close to the magnificence of the Universe Boss

West Indies have won the toss and have opted to field

Tim David lucky to be in the team, Stoinis is close behind

Problem is we don’t have alternatives in terms of finishers.

Stoinis has been our best t20 bat in the last 2 years

Lack of batters coming through is a real problem. Even in the BBL not many put their hands up and they were mostly openers or top order batters.
