I thought he bowled really well in the 2nd innings and thanks for the dropped catches again  could easily of had 3 wickets

But no Bgman don't want green as just the specialist seamer when josh retires happy the way it is

also found it interesting with greenie back marsh bowled less overs ...and marsh didn't look 100% for me this test in the field
Personally think the No.6 spot should be occupied by Marsh or Green, can not play both in the same team.

If Shamar Joseph won Man of Series. well deserved as he did win the second Test almost single handely. But commiserations to Josh Hazlewood whose 14 poles @10. e/c 2.22, must have been an extremely close second and is probably the boy from Bendemeers best two match series in five years, if not his career.

Certainly and closies, those that flew thru the cordon or mills short of fielders. But his 7 first innings overs showed he has the accuracy and pressure building ability of Hazlewood, even bowling sub his economy rate.

To be fair to Joseph, he only got 3 innings to bowl in and he had a busted foot in one of them.

Hazlewood - and yes it does need to be remembered he competed with three other world class teammates for wickets - got four full innings to bowl in

A bruised big toe is a bit different from having a busted foot....yeah the kids effort was outstanding and heroic, but let's not over play it.

There was blood coming from it: yes it’s not a war wound I understand that but when the ball doesn’t actually deflect further towards fine leg or the slips cordon, that usually means it’s actually hit flush, ie. it’s trying to push the nail in. That is ******* painful and you could see him walking between deliveries that he was in real genuine pain and he didn’t even have his own shirt at the ground to begin with so his own team staff weren’t expecting him to bowl

It wasn’t Graeme Smith but it was a bloody big effort

Yeah sorry but basically every sportsman has one.
He’s the captain of his country and he is a nice guy, he doesn’t have to gag for points. The fact that he IS doing it after they lost and blew the series is further proof of that.

Man I thought I was a bitter sports fan at times.

It’s like the same people who complain about AFL players smiling and shaking hands after a loss as some sort of sign they don’t care or there is a culture problem at that club.

Shamar in the post match presser was so lovely. Spoke nothing but praise for his team and particularly Brathwaite. Seems incredibly proud to be playing test cricket for the Windies and specifically answered that he will always play Test cricket over t20 money. And * he's a funny guy. The whole squad seems so ******* fun.

Brathwaite was literally pleading for more test matches more often in that same presser.

I can't wait to jealous-hate the Windies again

They have 3 in England this year. A good showing there will result in more countries wanting to play them.

I would love the Windies to be strong enough countries would want 3,4 or 5 test series against them.

have to take into account the opposition as well. Joseph is bowling to arguably the best batting line-up in the world (away from home), Hazelewood is bowling to a very average batting line-up.

Not disputing that Hazlewood was excellent because he was but I think they made the right decision, all things considered.

I literally read a comment a few days ago on Facebook after Australia slumped to 4-20 odd in the first innings saying ‘this is what happens when your captain goes woke.’

Yeah. Smith fell across his stumps because Pat Cummins has an opinion on the environment mate. That’s what it is. Marnus can’t work out where his off stump is at the moment because Cummins agrees with a lot of people that Jan 26 is a touchy date for people to celebrate our nation. It beggars belief the kind of connection people will draw between on field performances and off field personality

Given our past record against England and the sort of attack we are likely to field there I can genuinely see us taking another test off them. We’ve done it in our last two tours there, we weren’t THAT far off taking two last time.

Really really want Jase to see this and want in. He said openly and I want to take it at face value that he’s far from walking away from test cricket and just wants to give his full attention to the World Cup. Add him to this squad and suddenly the attack looks, whisper it quietly, world class. Swap him in for Greaves who did a job but keep Greaves in the squad

what did Green average for the year? He averages about 24 since 2023. So you're having a go at a keeper for averaging that (because you are one of those nuffies who just wants players dropped all the time so players from your state can play) but it's ok for Green to do that as a specialist batsman... check mate.

And you're also picking on a keeper who had an incredible year behind the stumps. He's not getting dropped so you'll probably need to learn how to deal with it.
Green is not a specialist batsman

We are the best of all time what are you talking about Cummins is the best captain ever according to the w***ers here
You will struggle to find 5 people who think this team is the best Australian team ever or that Cummins is the best captain ever. This is literally something you have made up in your head. Probably because you want something to wack the team with. No doubt you shat over all the team when they lost the Ashes badly here in 2010 and also whinged when the team never lost at home for 15 years because it was "boring". Just one of those weirdos that whinges about the team no matter what which makes one wonder why you even bother pretending to be a fan. There's no "we" here bud, just drop the act because you're no good at it.
