pick a reserve team thats what you get !

whole thing had no cred right from the start !! waste of time

Nothing against the Irish, they were very good to watch, but id personally rather watch a State of Origin game with two sides of un deserving players picked then the crap I was watching last night.

Listening to Anthony Hudson sound amazed with the Irish kicking skills also made me laugh, Imagine if it was played with our ball and every time an Aussie hit a target he cracked a fat and said that was amazing.

The Irish were very very good last night, But im not to sure many in Aus cared and I think the crowd reflected that

We all know the irish aren't a tough physical race(look at any world war) but this post is just embarrassing.

Your coach seems intent on bringing the Biff in the next game going by his comments. Funny thing is, ye haven't got the players to back it up this year and you'll end up getting the sh1t slapped outta ye.

I said the AFL picked a side to lose against the sookie Irish and it happened.
Boycott the next game .

Just to point out by the way, the ball used in IR is different to the ball used in senior gaelic football.
It's smaller and lighter and similar to the type of ball kids would use when they're playing gaelic football.

How massive was that hit on Trengove though. Clean as a whistle, and rocked him into next week. You don't even see that in the AFL anymore.

Highlight of the game. Hanley FTW!

Series is a farce. Has no credibility or prestige.

Should be an honour to represent your country in any environment (look at international FRIENDLIES worldwide).

I can cop fielding a weak side but that side was plain rubbish. It would be like the Socceroos fielding an entire team coming from the domestic state leagues.

And yours isn't?

Yours would go down in the history of BF as the most ignorant and moronic statement ever.

This is where you admit you don't actually have sweet **** all knowledge of the Irish in the history of wars and leave the threead.

Would have been much much closer if they could convert in the first Q. Oh well still not complaining to see some sort of footy in the off-season.

Liked the look of Tommy Walsh last night. I hope he can play with the oval ball.

The Aussies looked very timid. Too concerned about the 'spirit' of the game rather than winning the contest.

That's not why Australia got rolled. Australia needed to release the ball quicker by hand.

They were gaining possession but then not supporting each other enough with link play which lead to the Irish being able to zone the Australians off.

Australia also needed to avoid playing alone the lines. This is a strength of Ireland and that allowed them to hold the Australians up and limit their effectiveness entering the forward third.

What Australia need to do is play a more direct game through the central coridoor and use Smith as a focal point up forward and have him either marking or putting it to the feet of Australian players running past.

Aussie players were moving too sideways in their support of each other when running. sideways passing ala rugby style isnt the way to break down Ireland. They need to run more through the lines and be more direct.

Are you for real? Why would they make any adjustments? The series means nothing. Get Bernie and Dougie home thanks, unscathed.

Didn't realize this game had already been played. Why is this series still going? Why is Rodney Eade the coach? Why does Australia's team consist mainly of unknown players? Are Australia still not allowed to be physical?

Is it simply being continued to try and restore harmony between the two codes? Bit of a joke really. I wonder if the Irish still care?

You can't win a contest if you are not up to it. The AFL players weren't. Nothing to do with the 'spirit' of the game, just not up to it.

Can anyone tell me why the Australian team just doesnt pick a soccer goalkeeper from the VPL to play in goals, its a specialist position that doesnt exist in Aussie Rules?

And LOL at the Irish thinking they are tough, you guys went the sniper tactics in 2006, then had half your team laid out by the smallest bloke on the pitch, then sooked as though you didnt have it coming. I lost all respect for them after that. If your gunna pick a fight dont start carrying on when you get what you deserve.

...

3 players went off with game finishing injuries, one in hospital. Both sides were physical, the GAA players probably more aggressive. Perhaps by "physical" you mean head high tackles, fights and punches.

They don't do that because a soccer GK would be useless in this form of the game.

The GK in IR needs to be able to also play outside of the box.

Bar the one costly mistake that lead to an Aussie goal, Cluxton(Irish GK) was one of the best on the ground.

Do you feel a bit better now ?

Why didn't Australia pick Ablett, Bartel, Judd, Franklin, Swan, Goodes, Stevie J, Pendlebury, Pavlich, Black, Murphy etc etc etc?

I would say most of those players were "not available". Some due to legitimate injury, some due to CBF syndrome
