WHEN Rhyce Shaw decided to start his football career anew in Sydney, neither he nor his new club could possibly have known what was to come.

The Swans hoped they had drafted a ready-made player who could add pace through the middle of the ground; Shaw hoped he had found a club where he could make the most of his footballing talent after eight unfulfilling seasons at Collingwood.

I dare to say that Racer proved his critics wrong in 2009. Good on him too. :thumbsu:

i'm not particularly suprised the season he has had

came off a good season last year..... and his run complimented very well against the lumbering tortoises of our side

but the verdict is still out on him... he has to back up his 2009 season with equally good performances in the future.... mattner's a good example, he's probably gone backwards this season despite his breakout performance last year

if both can fire for the next few seasons, we may still be in the mix for finals hopefully

Shaw was also last seen in the early hours of brownlow night, passionately licking his ex teamate Scott Pendelburys arm, hes a weird one our Agro on the turps lol.

Pfft, nothing wrong with that. I'd do the same with Angela Gossow. :o

I think he has proven his critics wrong with the 2nd in our Best and Fairest.

I think Rhyce might be the milkmans son because he looks nothing like any of the Shaws

eight unfulfilling seasons at Collingwood

What a wasted chunk of a career then, this statement is a bit ungrateful.

When they're next too each other you can tell their brothers. It's hard, but it's there .

It's the truth though.

He's achieved in 1 year at the Swans more than he ever did in his 8 years at Collingwood.

Agree. Shaw had a great year and for one I am glad.
He was much maligned at the Pies and obviously made the right move.

To say he wasted 8 years at the Pies is a little premature though. Those 8 years made him the player you traded.

I was not surprised to see him do well in the B&F.

Best of luck to him.
